This way it’s restricted the same way Alcohol or other age verifying commodities are restricted. But you only have to give your ID in those situations and supposedly it’s protected information. This protects children. The rest is nonsense. There’s plenty of templates out there. I think maybe half the states have a law like this. Texas just needs to dial it back. Call your representative and have this conversation. You can also call the governor‘s office.
