It's long past time to ban pharma commercials.

OnTheJump's avatar

did you know .....

The United States and New Zealand are the only two countries that allow pharmaceutical companies to advertise prescription drugs directly to consumers on television. In most other countries, such advertising is either restricted or banned due to concerns about its potential impact on public health.

Gary Edwards's avatar

Yes, sadly, I am aware of that.

Sarah Hornibrooke's avatar

Yes New Zealand, land of the long white chemtrail, and seen by many as little America.

Occam's avatar

Not to mention the enormous conflict of interest.

Years ago when this began, I turned to a friend and asked, why are they pushing drugs? She said, well…maybe they’re good for you. I said, if anything is good, people don’t need to be pushed. They’ll use it. This has never been done before. Something’s fishy. She said, awww, you’re just imagining things.

Was I?

Well, no. Now we know that we are guinea pigs for their studies. Just like in Nazi Germany. Even when people need a drug, they never ever get something that will HEAL, only something that addresses symptoms!

It’s a money making scheme.

Don’t just believe that they want the best for you! Do a little research. There are ways to heal the body.

Occam's avatar

It doesn't even have to be that evil. Just the pursuit of money and unbridled corporate behaviour will lead to this.

A bunch of pharma middle managers just chasing their annual bonus.

Susan Crabtree's avatar

Yup, Occam, that’s true. That one word, ‘greed’ starts the itch. Scratching does the rest.

Thanks for your input! 😊

Drugs are designed to harm and addict. That’s the basis of massive profits and population reduction

Post Note:

If doctors were only paid if a patient was made well, whole, again and you were NOT required to pay in advance, this would STOP in a twinkling!!

This is total bs.

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

If these were the only metric for pay, then those who are in the greatest need would be refused as their deaths would hurt the doctor’s score. That’s what happens in Japan.

Susan Crabtree's avatar

So, tell me, what solution do you offer?

Kitsune, Maskless Crusader.'s avatar

Don’t know, I am just relaying a real life unintended consequence of that system of payment. I would suspect, however, that some sort of hybrid system that incorporates this in to the over assessment may the most workable. Or, we could go back to who patients paid before modern insurance and especially government insurance got involved.

Sarah Hornibrooke's avatar

Do the same with those political promises and then it would be glitter!

Susan Crabtree's avatar

Ok, how about the scaling be changed? There are no bad scores. Only positive ones. That way, no one is left out.

finally no more phuking " ask your doctor " " ask your doctor " over and over and over again "

yessssssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leskunque Lepew's avatar

Side effects . Minor puking... diarrhea ....heart attack .....death....and you butt falls off....ask your doctor...NOW!!

Why tell us about Wray? Just arrest him.... talk and no action is what we have.... more justice in a lynch mob than in any govt agency

Here in The Netherlands we don’t have advertisements about medicines and vaccins.

We had 71% of population taking the Covid shot.

Having no farma advertisements helps in general in absence of massive fear campagnes but is it sufficient?

I doubt it.

Does it tackle the root cause for 3rd cause of death?

I doubt it.

If it is limited to that it is like locking one door of the house to prevent the burglars from entering while leaving open the other doors.

SoCalGal's avatar

Watch the end of the ads with all the side effects and you’ll never want to take any of those drugs! They need to be stopped now!!!

Allie's avatar

The list of side effects occurs at the end of the ad and are recited so rapidly, their impact is lost to the joy of the dancing and singing people.

DJ's avatar

This. Exactly.

Which is why, IMHO, this so called bombshell change will change nothing whatsoever. I take that back, listeners will become so utterly desensitized to potential side effects we will lose a vision for what health is- the way most accept drug-taking & vaccines as the normal and natural state of being. We’re close to being there now. Real change would only come from prohibiting drug advertising altogether.

In Canada pharmaceutical ads aren't allowed. Love it! We just get them on American channels.

Gary Edwards's avatar

Do you get them on the internet?

Valora Kilby's avatar

I remember a time when pharmaceutical ads were banned on TV and in all magazines. Somewhere along the line that ban got repealed and the result is basically big pharma's "ownership" of the networks.

And big pharm repays Americans with outrageous prices so (they) can fund the world with our $s

TOXIC NATION THE MOVIE.

https://play.mahafilms.com/unlock-maha-now

Well worth the watch. A carefully made documentary that introduces people on the deep level of how their lives have been harvested for money by corporations using chemicals that harm us and ultimately lead to those corps making even more money.

Freedom is Choice, and that is the bottom line from this movie.

Jay Heid's avatar

Smart.not.- Appears BPharm bombards public with useless but consumer costly ads to convince the unknowing to confront your Dr with costly drug requests!

We all know that the 2020 election was rigged and Biden did not actually win. But the statute of limitations runs out in August. And the enormous damage to our country and the world by the Biden administration has already been done. Millions of lives lost due to “vaccine” mandates, wars, fentanyl flowing into our country, and many other evils. And don’t expect there to be any accountability or punishment.

END BIG PHARMA ADS!!

Pharm uses every tactic that street vendors use.
