Well mine had a huge round bulb but that was back in the 70's! It does look more like it, especially, their Psoriasis lamp! There isn't much detail on their site and their heading states 'seen on Amazon.com' [although I'm in the UK and it's not on Amazon here!] but doesn't come up when selected. I have independently entered Amazon.com and their other Sperti 'sun tan' lamp is listed but then states made by MTAEI & think it's a Chinese looky-likey version? I may be able to purchase direct from the Sperti company in the USA [I have been bitten before ordering from Amazon. Ordered a box DVD set, from what I thought was a genuine official site via Amazon, of 'Everyone Loves Raymond' & when it arrived the box stated 'Everyone loves Roymond'! Amazon washed there hands of it & I didn't get a refund although I returned the pirate product!] I do appreciate your response & will email the company after Christmas as, although it is on sale, it is out of stock at the moment. Hi, I know exactly what you are talking about. We called them sun lamps. I was wondering if a pet store would have the bulb you need. I have a clamp type of lamp I bought at the pet store, I used for my zebra finches with a blue light to mimic sunlight. They lived twice as long as they are supposed to. I use the lamp, clamped to a ladder back kitchen chair, and bought an infrared 60 watt bulb to help with my knee pain. It works great!

The treatment I had in the 70's was strictly regulated and one had to wear special goggles to protect one's eyes. The home version [which required a doctor's prescription to purchase] insisted on only 5 minute sessions once a week and, being a stupid teenager, I once overstated the time limit and did 8 minutes. The next day my face was burnt bright red & sore [I looked like a panda] & my mother had to write me a sick note [mainly because of how I looked] and it calmed down over the weekend [nobody wore make-up at school back then!]xx
