I use 2 forms of dmso. Gel on my lower back which has been fabulous & I ingest 1/4 teaspoon in my morning coffee to fight internal inflammation. I was dx 34 yrs ago with MS & have taken a number of big pharma drugs to combat the constant inflammation & im happy to report since I’ve quit every pharmacy drug including otc nsaids & ingesting dmso, I feel fabulous! It’s not for everyone but if you’re desperate, ingesting it won’t be the worst thing you could try! dmsostore.com and Amazon sells it also but I believe Bezos gets enough of my money as it is😁

I’ve also used LDN in the past with little results so Dr put me on DMF (dimethyl fumarate aka Tecfidera) which I’ve been taking since 2015. I detoxed all meds for a solid month & started ingesting liquid dmso 1/4 tsp in my morning coffee since April & haven’t had any relapses & even feel better than when on meds. Plus the dmso is less toxic long term. Hope that helps.

Good Morning, MS unfortunately also, I use LDN and Kisempta, have been doing fabulous since 2013, now some trouble walking, I just bought the gel to go on my back, what kind of the liquid do you inject? I am wanting to try that also. Is it just the liquid form in the bottles on the dmso store website? Or is there a different percentage to look for? Thank you!

A pure form is available at Amazon. About $25 for 8 oz. It is a good way to start. The original source directly sells pure DMSO by the gallon. I refill my handy 8 oz bottles for $10. Yes, I buy it by the gallon. My wife suffered from early onset Alzheimer's disease. She became an invalid and developed horrible bed sores. I treated the bed sores with ivermectin and fenbendazole. They worked and there was a side effect. Her Alzheimer's was caused by an infection, likely a brain fungus. The infection was stopped. She has had no further decline in over 18 months. Alzheimer's is a symptom of brain damage with multiple causes. Ivermectin and fenbendazole should be given twice a day for a month upon diagnosis. Do not wait for tests. They are very safe drugs. Safer than aspirin. (Pay attention, anyone may have an adverse reaction.)

I am giving her 1 tsp per day of DMSO in juice, hoping to wake up brain cells trapped in the "cell danger response." If I had a device to count the number of syllables uttered per day, I could show a quantitive measure of improvement. She babbles more in recent months. Not understandable, but she is trying to talk.

I also take 1 tsp per day in 6 oz of juice to treat joint problems. Yes, we both have DMSO breath. The good thing is neither of us can smell it, as our noses are saturated from our own DMSO breath.

After doing a marathon run of over 26 miles in 1981, I was so stiff I could only hobble. I was staying at the home of a naturopathic doctor and his wife in Connecticut at that time. He gave me some DMSO to use and within minutes the intense pain was gone. I did take a hot bath, before I used it.

I and many patients are enjoying considerable benefit. Personally, I do not bother with extra washing unless the area is dirty or contaminated somehow. It irritates my skin so I dilute about 50/50 with magnesium oil (not an oil but feels like it). Many are happy with the commercial formulations. It can be diluted further with water if needed. As a solvent it will carry other molecules into the body. The magnesium can also help with joints and pain.

I used to play major division fast pitch softball in Indiana and all our pitchers used it on their arms, mostly during tournaments.

Our Governor Otis Bowen MD treated his wife with DMSO and marijuana when she was dying of cancer.

“Bowen told an American Medical Assn. convention in 1981 that he gave the drug dimethyl sulfoxide, DMSO, to his wife, who was dying of cancer, to relieve her pain. The drug had not been approved for cancer victims by the Food and Drug Administration. He said it was recommended to him by a veterinarian friend.

‘Nothing Illegal’

Asked in the Oval Office if he thought it would hurt his confirmation by the Senate, Bowen told reporters, “No, because I’ve done nothing illegal.”

In Australia it's only sold as a solvent. I assume that's way different to the therapeutic version?

I have been able to get it through my health food shop in Tweed Heads. The product is by Bio Active Health Care, red & white label. It says “poison” but it could be a way to get around the PTB - bit like the unpasteurised “Bath Milk” which isn’t if you get my drift. My 500ml bottle says “practitioner dispensing only”. It was the young naturopath who got it in for me but our son mentioned it first, he bought it online somewhere, don’t know where. Try asking your health shop naturopaths or other practicing naturopath. Mind you, it comes and goes in availability, like so many good things. I hope for all our sakes that Australia doesn’t meddle any further into the availability of this marvellous miracle product. Good health to you!

Plant Essentials dot com dot AU sell the pure form. I dilute it equally to 50% then take a teaspoon in pure water. It is a solvent & it works. There are plenty of books on it, how it was discovered, tested, what it's used for, etc.

I’m not sure what the answer to that is. You can get it on eBay also. Can you order there or at the dmsostore and ship it to Australia? It might be fine, but I wouldn’t dare say.

I would like to try DMSO to relieve knee pain, but I read that you need to wash thoroughly the area on which you will use DMSO because DMSO is a master carrier. What do you wash the area with to avoid any toxins entering the bloodstream? TY

Expand full comment
DayDawnBreaking's avatar

I would add that when you get through applying it just rinse your hands with water (if you applied it with your hands) to avoid soap on your hands being absorbed. It rinses off easily and it’s not a big deal if the DMSO absorbs into your hands. One of the things about it is that it absorbs into the bloodstream, which in my mind is a good thing.

Excellent! One more question 😀 Which brand do you use?

DayDawnBreaking's avatar

I get it off Amazon. Natures gift brand or DMSOstore. Both can be purchased on Amazon. I would start with no more than 70% topically (could dilute liquid with magnesium oil or get the 70% cream or gel—which is what I use to rub on).

I’ve been using it on my lower back for the last few months after I shower with a natural soap. I don’t believe the area of the application of dmso needs to be so “clean” you need to buy anything out of the ordinary. I use the gel, let it air dry then get dressed. No biggie except my lower back has never felt better!!!

There is a little garlic odour but it’s not that bad. I use it either straight on the affected areas or mixed with Emu Oil - yes, that’s correct, it’s a good anti inflammatory which I’ve used on my back for years until I found out about DMSO. I’ve been using that for over a year and have been able to reduce pain a lot - fibromyalgia, congenital spinal stenosis and years of asthma and life in general :) creating stiffened muscles despite years of Jazzercise, jazz ballet, tap, yoga and now just walking and some stretching. The DMSO has made my life so much better. Haven’t tried drinking it, we have just today downloaded the info on dosage. Also know of someone using it for their cataracts. Now that’s interesting.

I put a drop of castor oil in my eyes and then a drop of DMSO for eyes, it makes my eyes clear, it stings for a few seconds.... I hope it clears my cataracts, but I don't know yet. Instructions say to use it twice a day, I use it once.

Good tip thanks. I have cataracts but they’re not giving me trouble…yet. I do NOT want to go to hospital for anything except a major accident or trauma like a break, I think I hear some “ayes” to that statement :)

I wait until I am totally dry, no humidity where I live. DMSO.store.com - roll-on is $15.

I do not. There’s a little metallic aftertaste but goes away when you eat or drink. It’s low oder so that helps

I am no expert. But i shower with a natural soap (and shampoo) before applying DMSO. Preferably something with no artificial ingredients or fragrances. Even rinse the area using a wet cotton wash cloth might help ensure cleanliness. Also , be aware of your clothes. Organic cotton is best, if you’ve applied DMSO…. Or wipe off the DMSO residue 20+ minutes after application, before getting dressed.

Good advice Christine. Sometimes I cramp at night (day too) and I use it in the dark on its own and rub it into the cramping area, usually feet and legs, but can be in my back and under the arms, so sleepily and in pain and without cleansing at what might be 2-4am I apply it, rub it in and get instant relief. Then I wash my hands thoroughly as you really don’t want that strength in your eyes if you forget and rub your eyes. I’ve given up whether it soils my clothing, which isn’t much at all (the Emu Oil I often use with it does that more so - see other comment re that) just wash your jammies/clothes in warm soapy water to rinse it out. I only say warm water for its dispersement as it is an oily substance and because here in Australia we use cold wash mostly, on sunny days which are best, when the bloomin’ chemtrails aren’t messing with the already predicted sunny weather which then isn’t 😠, but that’s another article and thread :).

Also approx 800 mg 2 x day turmeric w 90 percent curcumin .

Get 16 oz organic castor oil glass 3 oz ,half rubbed on, half applied to cloth wrap or both sides elbow matchup ...synch it or tape,Saran wrap it,not more then 1/3 inch touching skin each side..sleep with it 8-9 hours.. take off saran wrap..turn shower on hot as you can stand it,place elbow under shower,2 minutes..let sit 3 more..remove all of it and scrub off oil w cloth in shower.. repeat every other day 3 applications..elbow should hold better for 2-4 weeks without needing more castor oil..but more will help..just not as much as your already bone penetrated w oil..Castrol motor oil penetrates metal for race cars to this day! Same knees🔵,anywhere..
