The problem lies in the lack of cooperation from the local authorities and the arrogance of the public who think their righteousness gives them dispensation to attack law enforcement personnel. Going forward the illegal occupants that are not a threat to society could be brought in or voluntarily come in for a hearing to see if they can be given some type of work permit in order to stay if they are employed and not receiving government entitlements. If local governments did not grandstand "sanctuary" (sounds just SO humanitarian, doesn't it?) policies and detained suspected illegals who have been arrested for criminal charges, ICE would not need to enter their precincts in such numbers. The safety of ALL citizens would be better served by honoring ICE detainers, unless the safety of citizens is not the priority the "sanctuary" scofflaws claim. Who is buying these state and local politicians and who is benefitting from the amplified chaos thus created? That's the question I'd like answered.

Internet once heralded as universal information becomes age regulated meaning, you are only permitted to chat with equivalent age’s. Book shops are shutting. Reading is a socio/political anathema. Schools are policed where syllabus is reduced to “Employment Based Education, schooling you toward some work reliability performance test. General conversation is policed as Terrorism. Cameras prosecute you for walking in the park, “Out of hours”. Waiting for a train as a teenager has shaved headed tattooed Female Police feeling up pretty young girls, photographing them while searching them demanding ID. If your over 60, getting out alive meant you killed the doctors first.
The oppression means no longer will society try to interact or get any education of any sort, or communicate outside restricted groups. This will trend towards an ill-educated, illiterate and socially politically ignorant Zombie class of people who’s only role is to survive as a regulated consumer. So what are we worried about. Life would be so symple.

I think ICE is doing this to themselves on some level. Letting people harrass, threaten and resist sets expectations for leniency.
