I am an American. I have asthma. I lived in Romania for seven years. I was able to obtain my inhaler, and Montelucast there for $30 a month. When I came home to America it was over $600 per month for the exact same drugs, same amounts and my insurance company would not pay for it and I had to go without. The exact same medications with the exact same packaging. Nothing repackaged or specialized for Romania, just the very same products for $30 a month. I always said the most valuable thing in my house is my inhaler.

One of the things RFK junior has spoken about, and as a physician, I have talked about for years, is to outlaw pharmaceutical advertising for prescription drugs. For one thing, it influences both doctors and patients in ways that are not conducive to appropriate or cost-effective use of drugs. But more importantly, we know what advertising costs on major broadcast or cable networks, especially in prime-time. That money should be put back into reducing the cost of drugs for Americans and R&D. I know it's a way of buying off news organizations to prevent negative reporting on Big Pharma, but there's just no excuse for it. This is one place where government intervention is needed.

I couldn't agree more. Not only are these ads to consumers inappropriate medical advice, but they also allow the pharmaceutical companies to hold TV news programs hostage. No tv station will bite the hand that feeds them, by criticizing toxic pharma products. Take down the big billboards for hospitals, too. No one goes to the hospital in response to a roadside sign, I hope.

I agree. I live in the UK and we do not have advertising for pharmaceuticals at all, it’s amazing when I read what happens in the US. Health is too precious for these sharks to control. And I know that the NHS is a basket case, but here prescriptions cost about $13 per item regardless of its retail cost, and free if you are over 60 or on social benefits. There must be a middle way between the European, UK and US models that works.

I've been prescribed several different eye drops for my severe eye allergies/dry eye. I've not been able to fill any of them because these teeny tiny bottles cost $600 to $800. I don't have insurance. I stay away from Rx and doctors as much as I can but sometimes I need an Rx. Maybe now I can afford it.

Expand full comment
Apapach-Arte's avatar

The cost of this Rx and you not being able to afford it might very well be a blessing in disguise. Try looking into other safer, affordable alternatives. Or better yet, start working on believing that your body actually already knows how to heal itself, because it does.

Expand full comment
Michelle Turpin's avatar

It's funny you said that because after 3 times of not being able to afford the Rx, I became an internet sleuth and discovered saline eye wash and castor oil. They have made a huge difference in my eye health. But sometimes people cannot get around an Rx. They can be life saving and Americans should be able to afford them. Not just the rest of the world. And for the record, I do believe my body knows how to heal itself. But sometimes it's not that easy, unfortunately. The body doesn't always believe what the mind does or we wouldn't be losing so many people to so many diseases.Especially cancer.

Expand full comment
Apapach-Arte's avatar

Absolutely agree. It is one of the paradoxes of healing… the body can heal itself, but sometimes it needs help in remembering how, and especially, it needs help in deconstructing the hundreds of years of programming and conditioning that made us believe that healing can only come from the outside. There are life-saving medications, but these are only necessary in cases of emergency (for example, blood transfusions, epinephrine injections, anesthetics for emergency surgeries, etc.). Everything else can be successfully treated with other alternatives. Particularly in the case of cancer, there are no “life-saving” pharmaceuticals or interventions (except surgery when it is operable). Something not a lot of people know is that clinical trials for cancer drugs do not have remission as an end-point, only 5-year survival rates. People dealing with cancer have been made to believe that chemo is their only option, but it’s not. Far from it. Items not even a good option. And it doesn’t save lives. It just extends it, perhaps, in 20%-40% of the cases, and the quality of life is severely diminished. An then there’s people who choose not to go the chemo route and they surpass the 5-year survival rate by far, with a much much better quality of life, and some of them actually become cancer-free. You cannot cure any disease by injecting a non-selective poison into your veins. It’s pure and simple common sense. And they actually tell you chemo does not make the cancer go away. It just shrinks the tumor, along with everything else in body that is healthy.

Exactly Apapach-Artie! What’s more is, what does lowering drug prices if the “mRNA & saRNA-Bioweapons” still being pushed which lie have killed millions?” I see absolutely no reason for people to be jumping out of their skin!

Until these most deadly & debilitating mRNA & the newly fast tracked saRNA, self-replicating bioweapons are completely “STOPPED” and “Banned” will lowering drug prices excite me.

I’ve lost 3 friends and 4 clients to these mRNA deaths jabs! Furthermore, they are NOT VACCINES!

This is a huge problem! By referring them to vaccines minimizes their deadliness and normalizes their ability to protect & prevent infection.

Absolutely false, yet our beloved President gets a hero’s attention simply for doing what should have never happened to begin with, which is allowing Big-Pharma to control our HHS industry!

Yes they are in control! RFK Jr. has been silent about the most deadly attack against humanity ever in the history of mankind by means of a “mRNA-Bioweapon!”

It’s called “Weapons of Mass Destruction!” Which is exactly what has happened to America and the world! How soon we forget who authorized this attack under the “DoD-OWS” don’t we?

It’s quite sad and extremely disturbing that nobody seems to give a rats-poop America was attacked by our own government!

Look, dude, pharma is extremely powerful and has a lock on Congress. To take them out, we will need a brilliant game plan, not a frontal attack that will only give the Democrats the needed ammo against Trump. Most people are brainwashed when it comes to healthcare, and it certainly is not all bad. The same with the food industry, which supplies the healthcare industry with plenty of damaged souls. Dismantling their vast power is going to take some time and intelligence. Squeezing funding is a good place to start, like attacking their revenue source.

Dr. Francis Boyle (God Rest His Soul) passed about three months ago, was responsible for writing the Bioweapons Act of 1989 which is still in force today. He called covid & the mRNA Bioweapon, “Weapons of Mass Destruction!” Dr. Boyle was an expert in this field as well as a litigation expert regarding vaccines injured soldiers. He is sorely missed to say the least. There isn’t anything Big-Pharma is so damn big they have a massive “chokehold” called $$$$&& around many in Washington. AIPAC controls the rest! Expand full comment

IMHO, the problem with this is that lower revenues will mean that CEO’s will still be getting their fat bonuses, but now, they’ll start cutting even more corners than they have been doing so far… hidden in plain sight. The whole industry needs to go. And that cannot be accomplished by making harmful products more affordable for people, because then they’re going to make more people get hooked on the illusion that they need their pills to get “better”. Think lower margins = higher volumes.

HOWEVER, this executive order does NOT mandate the lowering of drug prices. Trump is simply asking Big Pharma to reduce their prices, with no real penalties for not doing so. And sadly, THiS is why Big Pharma's stock prices went UP today, not DOWN!

Pfizer's stock is up almost 4%...and Moderna's stock is up over 5%.

Unless Trump puts some "teeth" into his requests, not many drug prices will change. When we see Big Pharma's stock prices go DOWN (way down!) is when we will KNOW that Trump has put some teeth into his Executive Orders.

There wouldn’t be any need to “lower drug prices”. This just perpetuates the “modern medical system’s” mode of “Sickcare”. Part of the need for these “lower drug prices” is that the ‘system’ (Big Pharma, Big Healthcare/Medicine, Big Food/Big Ag, Big Media) has promoted their products that have made all these people sick.
