CS Lewis dealt with this submersion of the natural order long ago with his famous Space Trilogy: Book 1 (1938) Out of the Silent Planet; Book 2 (1944) Perelandra; Book 3 (1945) That Hideous Strength. Astonishing, vivid, he saw it. So did his close friend JRR Tolkien. He also dealt with the End Times in other excellent novels. He was TIRELESS in bringing us awareness of Christ's imminent return, when Satan is overpowering the entire world and "even the elect" would not be able to survive.
