Humans in general, but, Canadians in particular; are very passive. We live in an insulating bubble much like the Matrix. And therefore we do not live at all, we 'Exist'.

Most will claim we live in a Democracy, without even understanding what a Democracy means. Voting every few years does not make a Democracy if nothing changes and id the platforms of the political parties mean nothing the day after the election is over.

When Members of Parliament can simply walk from one party to another (without consulting their constituents), then obviously there are no ideologies involved! The entire system needs to be changed.

100%

The Liberals will have a majority soon, and cement their control over the federal government, not that an opposition party has a chance in this political system.

I cannot think of a single positive thing the federal govt in Canada has accomplished in the last decade to make life better for a majority of Canadians.

Shameful.

We will do it in the dark of the night, if those charged with dealing with the likes of those doing this kind of crap do nothing, and there is a remote suggestion right will be punished.

You appear to lack clues. Start with reading history. Then tell all here how things have changed so much solutions in yesteryear are no longer solutions.

When looking into history, tell us, all, why the Declaration of independence, the Second Amendment to the federal constitution of the U.S, and all the state equivalents exist.

When people with guns and intent to use them come for you, or just with intent to end your freedom for any significant portion of your life, relying on the people in control of the system you are suffering is the stuff of children, women and idiots.

The ONLY reason most among us are not so much petrified dinosaur dung is, there are those who stood up, even when they did not want to.

Please note First, 1st amendment, first!

Why instigate Violent revolution before attempting to embrace the accountability we supposedly seek?

Your post lacks any details that would support a contention dire problems can be solved by simple exercise of the first amendment to the federal constitution.

We have not just one, rather, we have fifty-one constitutions, and for very good reason.

Kristina the Short's avatar

in my opinion (& I could be wrong, or only partly right), there is "so little impetus toward organization"

because a) people are inclined to (as the declaration of independence acknowledges) put up with familiar suffering as long as they can, before they strike out for unfamiliar change; b) the current system cunningly makes organization difficult with a variety of burdens, but especially c) we have no leader.

in 2016 we did have Trump but he was quickly hindered by traitors; thank God we have him again but he is changed, and just as his team learned and prepared, so also did our enemies. Same war, just ratcheted up a notch.

"why instigate violent revolution before attempting to embrace...accountability" ????

HELLO, is anybody in there ????

what cozy rock have you been giving under?

we HAVE been attempting accountability. Why do you think Elon Musk, who is used to accomplishing his goals, quit in frustration when partway done with the audit of the government ?!?!?

I am in my mid sixties. Believe me,

patriots HAVE BEEN "attempting accountability" and frankly the traitors are too many. We are outnumbered.

YES it IS time to withdraw, circle the wagons, and for networks as suggested above. BUT it would be wiser to do the bulk of IT OFF LINE.

do NOT forget we are being surveilled even as i type this.

Yes, I grew up with a bunch of hippies, yuppies, draft dodgers etc in Canada. It was a beautiful refuge from the evils of this world. I am an American and always will be and I'm actually surprised how my parents and neighbors comply with the BS in Canada. I do live by Christian values and have always been alone except for my "family". My mother talks poop about the USA but didn't have anything to say when I said " they are your brothers and sisters...". They really got anti-USA and took the shot and complied. They also like the communist leaders. I just don't understand because I always believed in freedom but I will defend myself and my family from harm if I'm alive. Those who want to can FAFO. QUESTION EVERYTHING.

Canada absolutely sucks now. It's cold, expensive, and the healthcare sucks. There are addicts and homeless encampments everywhere.

I've lived over half a century in this country and I cannot believe how far it's fallen in the last 10 years.

Liberal policies have turned Canada into a former shell of itself and it probably won't survive past 2040 and I don't care.

I am planning to exit this country very soon. I've given it and my tax money for far too long.

Percey Blakeney's avatar

Health care there has sucked for forty or more years. I watched Canadian friends leave the states and go back home for the free healthcare their daughter needed, only to return in a few years, when it was obvious the Canadian system would let her die.

jan's avatar

Now they will kill her happily, it’s called MAID

Elias Lumen's avatar

It's only gotten worse in the last 10 years. We've increased the population by 10 million yet have the same health Care budget.

The math don't work

tracy's avatar

The sad reality is Canada, as a chunk of land, was never hospitable to humanity. It’s cold. It’s rocky. It’s sprucy. Canada only started melting out from the Ice Age 15,000 years. Most of Canada was uninhabitable at all before 10,000 years ago, and most of Canada was only in use by First Nations at all a couple of thousand years ago (beyond the Canada/US border lands).

The Canadian landscape can only be survived by hard core independent resilient humans. That’s about 5% of Canadians today. The rest of Canadians are entirely reliant on government intervention for their mere existence.

This is why the US is so different. Life in the US is absolutely possible without endless government intervention.

Canada is fucked.

Elias Lumen's avatar

It certainly is. It is a sad inevitable truth.

Occam's avatar

So true.

I'm a naturalized Canada going on twenty years.

I can't imagine how those of you who grew up in Canada must feel about how far it's fallen.

Elias Lumen's avatar

Absolutely heartbreaking.

Canada used to be such a great country and it's shocking how far it's fallen in such a short time.

Occam's avatar

It must have been something to see/experience. My friends that are old Canadian stock all lament what's happened. The stories they tell about growing up in Toronto or in rural settings reflect a high-trust society and hardworking people who looked out for each other.

Elias Lumen's avatar

I lived most of my life in Halifax NS. Most times we never locked our doors and left our keys in the car. Even in a city of a half million people, there were very few homeless and very little addiction. Crime was low. Rent was low. It was a great place to live.

Fifteen years ago I moved to a rural part of the province and there was no crime to speak of, no homeless encampments and no addicts.

10 years ago they put in a methadone clinic to offload the addicts from Halifax and the crime exploded when the addicts showed up.

Now there are homeless encampments filled with addicts in every small town. Halifax is a mess. Crime is up sharply. Robberies, violence, B&E, home invasions, vehicle theft.

Liberal policies destroyed Canada. I used to vote Liberal. Never again.

Occam's avatar

Canada is fucked.

Because of the political system here, an opposition party cannot mount an effective challenge to the ruling Liberal party. And the Liberals are poaching Conservative MP's, so they'll have a majority soon.

I was thinking the other day, I cannot tell you one productive thing this liberal govt has accomplished in the last decade. The obscene cost of living continues to rise, taxes being increased to support governments (federal, provincial, local) that refuse to reduce expenses, the only labour growth comes from government hiring, and uncontrolled immigration and homelessness threatens to overwhelm the rest of society.

Like I said, Canada is fucked.

Ron Tkacz's avatar

Canada is falling (and failing) fast. Canada now has fewer and fewer shared values with its USA neighbor, and is becoming more and more of a threat to be crushed brutally, not tolerated.

Buck's avatar

It's happening here too. Tje left started doing this stuff back in 16 when Trump was elected president. They labeled white, Anglo, Christians as domestic terrorists, Nazis etc. We've been labeled as domestic terrorists. They only thing holding them at bay is the constitution. Once they figure out hiw to abolish that, its over.

John's avatar

At present we are on track to fix this, as we always do, the very messy way of the rest of history. The people nominally in charge have clearly learned nothing from the past sitting as they do in their ivory towers as they batter away at the very foundations of those towers.

Bubbles bubbles everywhere and when they are in a bubble as now, i.e. have lost touch with the reality that DEI does not work, that men can't have babies, that AI is not coming to save them from the plebs they have abused for profit, etc etc etc ................ they are doomed.

Can these "elites" save themselves and their families? They could have done that any time in the last 200 years as this nonsense was pushed out but they have murdered so many people in their wars they dare not confess all and beg forgiveness on their knees and so the usual end is in store for them all.

As someone famous famously said "The first shall be last and the last shall be first ....." ....... and boy do they hate him for telling it like it is going to be.

I won’t jump over the cliff just yet. Canada has been jacked up for decades. And the longer they go the “worserer” they become. That’s socialism in action. Has never worked, never shall. And any who believe differently live under a rock.

There are things I won’t give up. That which is contained in our bill of rights and our constitution. And I’m not alone.
