It’s absolutely horrendous in Australian Hospitals - Liverpool Hospital i witnessed a greater number of men who have diabetes and foot amputations. I have witnessed first hand how a foot blister, quickly becomes infected - doctor treats with antibiotics- doesn’t stop the infection and a bad smell develops - forced to go to emergency ward and wait on average 6 hours to be seen and treated - local hospital doesn’t want to touch it, as no specialist doctors on staff, need to transfer patient to another hospital, that takes time as no beds. Meanwhile infection beds in and toes start turning blue / black. Hospital doctor dresses the wound with some type of antibacterial gauze, and bandage which only seems to perpetuate the speed of infection. By the time patient is transferred to the specialist doctors at Liverpool a day later and then the doctors look at it, it’s too late and toes and foot needs to be amputated.
So many patients had the same story in the ward.
There’s something more to diabetes, cause and effect, medical intervention and side effects than is being disclosed.
So many people are suffering horrendous conditions and becoming amputated.
All said they were fit and healthy, living reasonably normal lives until a blister formed and the medical journey began.

I am appalled at what these patients are having to endure, and the copious amount of antibiotics, pain medications and blood thinners they are having to endure - hoping their body can cope while recovering from the surgery that looks so invasive and barbarous.
