That injector didn't work out due to possibly a variability in muscle density between children, and an inability to control the air pressure. So it was scrapped after that year.
Vaccines are far from safe and effective. What’s sad is that most of vaccines—now even flu shots—affect children. Here’s two guides for any parents or grandparents out there:
If you're going to vaccinate, be truly informed? That's self-contradictory. There may be some vaccines with a positive risk-benefit ratio. Trouble is, since all we get is lies, there is no way to sort these out, if they exist. Since the harms of the childhood schedule as a group far outweigh the benefits, the only "truly informed" decision a rational person can make is to skip them all.
Maybe, just maybe, rabies and stand alone tetanus in high risk occupations/lifestyle, and stand alone rubella in a nonimmune woman entering childbearing years. Tetanus is ubiquitous in our environment, occurs in wounds hardest to adequately clean, and our rates are disarmingly low because the initial series probably protects for at least 30 years. None in childhood and no mRNA.
Rabies shots certainly seem to be a good idea if you're bit by a rabid animal. I used to think the tetanus shot was indicated after a puncture injury. The only shot I've had in 35 years is a DPT when I got a fishhook buried in my leg from a 10-pound steelhead thrashing around with trebles dangling from his mouth. I wish I'd skipped it now. They said there is no such thing as just a tetanus shot, only the combo. Pissed me off at the time. I thought it was a basic tenet to only take pharmaceuticals that you need. They don't give a shit about that common sense axiom. Medical people truly suck.
Actually, if you’re bit, you need immune globulin; rabies vaccine given but isn’t the primary treatment. There used to be a stand alone tetanus that I think would be a good idea at some point in our lives if it was available (and not mucked up). There is a DT available at age 7. Today, many are not moving enough...and I saw what happened to my body, when I stopped doing my daily walking, because of accidents. I didn't gain weight...I gained 5 inches inches around my waist from sitting. So, I started fast walking and in four months took the inches off my waist. When people eat foods that are not right for their bodies...it STRESSES the organs handling them. Then, there is EMOTIONAL STRESS...from working too hard or being around negative people. Our bodies are STRESSED by unseen Electro-Magnetic Energies, which are harmful. There are other STRESSES, which harm the human body. STRESS is negative Pressure! .

I'd get the flu within 3 weeks of the shot every year and didn't make the connection until around 2017. 2016 was the last time I got a flu shot and actual flu is rare for me now. The same happened to my parents and several other people I know, they didn't get the flu shot and they never got the flu. Now I only get sinus infections in the winter, which I'm addressing by taking allergy meds all winter to dry my sinuses. :)
Also nicotine from smoking keeps away the cold and flu viruses, that is also a variable.

If the government is calling for or mandating something, that is the first warning to run the other way quickly. The government is not our friend.
