The power company smart meter on my house emits lots of radiation, but pales in comparison to the big box on the street power pole in front of my house. If I try to use a magnetic compass to determine north in my house, the compass points to the power pole. I threw away a few compasses before I figured it out.

For my smart meter, I affixed a metal bowl over it to shield the radiation from it. Problem solved there.
