If he does not, if he takes and keeps control of Ukraine, prevents any Western entity to be involved in its reconstruction, if he allows each region to vote to either remain neutral or to become part of Russia he is not.

The answer to all of this is "follow the money". Ukraine has been an orchestrated implosion once the Russians "got their act together". The math never worked for Ukraine...the Russians have more people and resources. The only reason Russia didn't wrap things up quickly was that it made more sense to grind Ukraine down so as never to be a threat again. The loss of 500,000 men and the exodus of 3+ million people (probably more) will leave Ukraine weakened for decades. But who has benefitted - besides Russia? ALL of the people that sold them arms and advice (not to mention the crooks in Kiev). Furthermore, look at who will rebuild Ukraine after hostilities cease (usual suspects). The only thing that I find puzzling are the continued calls for war .... like NATO can do anything and we're dealing with a nuclear armed opponent. Not very smart and quite dangerous. As I've said in the past...time for an off-ramp to all of this. Pax
