Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, recently released diary entries, Tony’s Diary Package, from former White House COVID advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci that show a bizarre, yet characteristic, obsession with fame, even as the death toll from the pandemic grew.

The diaries were public as part of the committee’s ongoing oversight investigation.

Senator Paul shared a series of statments X about the diary and the release, “My investigation uncovered that Anthony Fauci kept a diary. What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories. Today I’m releasing his entries from December 2019 through December 2022.”

“While publicly posturing as a champion of science, he was privately directing his staff to destroy federal records. This is a blatant violation, a betrayal of the public trust, and further proof that Fauci engaged in a coverup from the very beginning of the pandemic. I’m going to ask him about this when he goes under oath this Wednesday.”

In one entry, Fauci writes that during a White House Task Force meeting in the Situation Room, President Trump publicly praises him as “really a famous guy… the smartest, knowledgeable and outstanding persons he knows.”

He records being “surprised and very pleased” and “stunned and impressed” by the reactions of deputies, despite the meeting’s topic being evacuations, quarantines, and rising case numbers.

After congressional briefings amid discussions of expanding quarantines and a Public Health Emergency declaration, Fauci notes praise such as from former Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) calling him a “national hero” and saying she “felt safe in his arms.”

Fauci also tracked growing media profiles and public gratitude, including noting positive media profiles from Politico and The New York Times, as well as an “amazing outflow of thanks from hundreds of people.”

He describes feeling “pretty safe” due to public adulation while cases surge.

On March 10, 2020, Fauci wrote, “For better or worse, I am becoming an international celebrity. Calls from all over the world.”

In late March–April 2020 entries, Fauci highlighted examples of the ‘adoration’ coming his way even as more and more Americans died and the elderly were trapped in away from loved ones.

He notes stories about “grandmothers who have crushes,” petitions for him as “Sexiest Man Alive,” coverage of his college basketball career, SNL spoofs, bobbleheads, fan merchandise (ie. beers named after him), an Instagram Live with celebrities like Steph Curry, and public “thirst”/fandom described in outlets like The Atlantic.

Senator Paul subpoenaed Fauci in June 2026 after Fauci backed out of a prior voluntary agreement to appear. The session is expected to focus on COVID-19 origins, gain-of-function research funding, related records, and other issues from Fauci’s time as NIAID director.

He is scheduled to testify on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. ET at a public hearing before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

The WNBA only has two real stars with any meaningful popular following - Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham. Both of them built reputations as underdogs in a sport traditionally dominated by minority players espousing far-left politics. Both of them have been mistreated in the past by a league that tends to play nursemaid to those same players.

The WNBA has long been a cultural joke, not just because its reputation for low standards of athleticism, but because they are constantly whining about “equal pay”, “social justice” and LGBT issues. The league spends so much energy on activism that they’ve forgotten about the game and the fans. No one likes a bunch of crybabies making demands.

The national interest in Caitlin Clark transcends politics; people like her because she takes the game seriously and plays at a level far above most of her peers. Her mere presence on the court now often brings in double or even triple the normal WNBA viewership.

On the other hand, Sophie Cunningham has gained a reputation as an enforcer. While Caitlin Clark is being persistently battered with flagrant fouls disguised as “accidents”, Cunningham has decided to dish out some fouls in return. The Martial Arts trained player has decided to “sweep the leg” on the league and she’s no longer letting the abuse slide.

This month she went viral for pointing her finger in the face of a black player (DeWanna Bonner) after multiple fouls against Caitlin Clark without referee intervention. Bonner flipped out over the gesture and the WNBA was unhappy. A white girl pointing with condemnation in the face of a black player was viewed by the political left as unacceptable. The fans loved it.

This week, Cunningham was in the news again, this time because she took a public position on “trans women” (men) being allowed in women’s sports. Cunningham argued that she doesn’t hate trans people, but:

“I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like, ‘I never once said that.’ I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”

She later doubled down when confronted by the media:

“I said what I said. I think it’s kind of common sense. And I think I’ll always believe in that. I think it’s really important to protect children, and that’s little girls who are also involved in that category. And so I’ll stand on what I said, and I’ll always believe that.”

Rule #1 when dealing with the political left: Never apologize to the political left. It won’t shut them up. They will smell blood in the water and attack even more aggressively. Cunningham seems to understand this rule well.

In response, the media has gone on the attack, admonishing Cunningham for her comments. Leftists on social media are calling for her to booted from the league. Some are burning her jersey in an effort to inspire a boycott of her merchandise.

However, as usual, whenever leftist try to boycott someone it ends up backfiring. If a bunch of mentally ill gender fluid weirdos want to buy her jerseys just to burn them, Cunningham will be happy to take their money. Beyond that, her willingness to go against the progressive agenda of the WNBA has also earned her a lot of respect.

Almost overnight, Sophie Cunningham merchandise has sold out online, including her exclusive basketball shoes in women and men’s sizes. Clearly, the public has decided who they think is right on the issue of transgenders in women’s sports. Multiple conservative politicians and the White House have come to her defense on the national stage.

Like it or not, everything has become political, even women’s basketball. But this is largely due to media and establishment interference. Progressive journalists are constantly acting as agents of the woke movement, demanding that people with a public platform swear fealty to the cause or be ostracized. These activists got a little too comfortable with their cancel culture power over the past decade; so much so that they don’t realize how quickly it’s all disappearing.

More and more people are refusing to bend the knee, and sports figures like Cunningham working in the midst of these vicious piranhas should be commended for standing by their principles.

Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge has uncovered records pointing to Chinese blackmail efforts targeting the Biden family—documents that sat in plain sight for the legacy media, the FBI, and the CIA, only to be met with willful blindness.

In a recent appearance discussing declassified materials related to China’s 2020 election influence operations, Herridge described finding references to blackmail by China that were prepared for inclusion in the president’s daily brief.

“I found these records which are talking about blackmail by China,” Herridge explained, adding “It was for President Biden’s daily brief. I can conclude, I think, that it was probably about targeting his family.”

She noted that the findings, along with broader evidence of suppressed intelligence on Chinese influence, were ignored and buried in order to protect Democratic power, stating tghat “in the media or legacy media there was kind of a willful blindness. They didn’t want to look at the records. All you had to do was spend a couple of hours.”

These findings come in the wake of President Trump’s primetime address to the nation last week, announcing newly declassified intelligence detailing China’s massive compromise of U.S. voter data and the intelligence community’s efforts to bury it.

Herridge, a veteran Emmy-winning investigative reporter, has previously pursued stories on the Hunter Biden laptop, the Biden family’s foreign business dealings, and related corruption allegations—reporting that put her at odds with CBS leadership and the broader media consensus.

In February 2024 she was among those laid off in a round of cuts. CBS then seized her reporting files, including materials involving confidential sources. Testifying before the House Judiciary Committee, Herridge described the seizure in stark terms: “When my records were seized I felt it was a journalistic rape.”

She added that “CBS News’ decision to seize my reporting records crossed a red line that I believe should never be crossed by any media organization” and that “When the network of Walter Cronkite seizes your reporting files, including confidential source information, that is an attack on investigative journalism.”

She has maintained that she simply “reported out the facts of the story. I called balls and strikes.” The network eventually returned the files under pressure from the House Judiciary Committee and her union.

Earlier, during the 2020 campaign, the Biden team had already labeled her a “partisan, rightwing hack.” Her treatment fits a pattern of institutional pushback against journalists who refused to look away from the Biden family’s financial ties.

Those ties have been documented for years. House Oversight Committee investigations, led by Chairman James Comer, obtained bank records and witness accounts showing Chinese Communist Party-linked money flowing to Biden family members.

Comer stated that the documents demonstrated the family had received funds from CCP-connected entities and that family members “attempted to sell access & influence around the world.”

A subsequent memorandum detailed more than $10 million in foreign money linked to Biden family members and associates, including previously undisclosed Romanian payments and millions tied to CEFC China Energy and related entities.

Republicans highlighted wires that reached multiple family members and questioned what services, if any, were provided in return. Comer accused the White House of running interference rather than correcting the record.

IRS whistleblowers later provided additional detail on Joe Biden’s proximity to Hunter Biden’s China deals. One text message from Hunter to a Chinese businessman read in part that he was “sitting here with my father” and demanded fulfillment of a financial commitment, warning of consequences involving “the man sitting next to me.”

Business associate Rob Walker told the FBI that Joe Biden had stopped by a CEFC-related lunch at Hunter’s request to bolster the deal. Whistleblowers described DOJ restrictions that limited questions about “the big guy” or “dad,” blocked certain warrants on optics grounds, and produced a far softer outcome than the felony charges the IRS had recommended for millions in unreported foreign income from China, Ukraine, and Romania.

President Trump highlighted the same material in 2023, declaring that “Crooked Joe Biden Is Compromised, Owned By China.” He quoted the Hunter text and noted the rapid transfer of millions from Chinese sources, arguing that Beijing understood the leverage it held.

Further evidence of parallel communication channels emerged when investigative journalist Peter Schweizer revealed that Hunter Biden paid for a secret AT&T global “burner” phone used by Joe Biden during his vice presidency.

When journalist John Solomon dialed the number, Joe Biden answered before hanging up. Schweizer shared the account details with the House Oversight Committee in hopes of obtaining records that could illuminate contacts with foreign executives.

Taken together, the pattern is consistent: large foreign payments, documented proximity of the then-vice president and later president to the deals, internal efforts to limit scrutiny, and a media apparatus that treated the most serious questions as radioactive.

Herridge’s latest examination of the declassified China records simply adds another layer—references to blackmail pressure that reached the level of the president’s daily brief—yet once again the institutional response has been to look away.

The American people were told for years that these matters were conspiracy theories or Russian disinformation. The bank records, the texts, the whistleblower testimony, the phone, and now the intelligence product references say otherwise.

Accountability still matters. The full scope of foreign leverage over the Biden family remains a question of national security.

Aggressive cancer was associated with a major disruption of beneficial gut bacteria involved in immune regulation and intestinal-barrier function.

A new metagenomic study led by Dr. Sabine Hazan analyzed stool samples from 60 adults, including 25 patients with aggressive cancer, 15 with non-aggressive cancer, and 20 controls without cancer.

The cancer cases included breast, lymphoma, colon, ovarian, lung, bladder, thyroid, prostate, and several other malignancies. Dr. Hazan’s team used next-generation sequencing to compare the relative abundance of key bacterial genera across the three groups.

The most dramatic finding involved Bifidobacterium, a beneficial group of bacteria associated with immune regulation, intestinal-barrier integrity, and antitumor immune activity.

Aggressive cancer patients had an average Bifidobacterium abundance of just 1.20%, compared with 6.53% in controls (82% less).

They also had 76% less Collinsella, 36% less Faecalibacterium, and 88% more Bacteroides, with all four differences reaching statistical significance.

This pattern is notable because Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium, and Collinsella have been associated with healthier immune function and better responses to certain cancer therapies. Some Bacteroides strains, by contrast, have been linked to tumor-promoting activity.

The differences were less pronounced in patients with non-aggressive cancer. Their Bifidobacterium levels were also lower than those of controls, but the result narrowly missed conventional statistical significance.

The findings suggest that more aggressive cancer may be associated with a more severely disrupted gut microbiome. The magnitude of the differences—especially the 82% lower Bifidobacterium abundance—supports larger prospective studies to determine whether these microbial patterns could eventually help identify aggressive cancer or become targets for microbiome-based cancer interventions.

During a terse exchange, Elon Musk told the virulently leftist editor-in-chief of The Economist that civil war in Britain is inevitable on current trends—driven by rapid migration of people whose beliefs clash with Western civilisation.

In response, Zanny Minton Beddoes accused Musk of supporting the “far right,” and amplifying racists.

Musk called the coming confrontation a “reckoning,” rejected the racist smear, and turned the tables on an interviewer determined to paint secure borders and opposition to rape and murder as fringe extremism.

When the interviewer insisted she lived in Britain and called the claim “nonsense,” he shot back: “You live a very closeted existence!”

He expanded: “If you have a large and growing, rapidly growing, group of people whose beliefs are antithetical to western beliefs, at some point there will be a reckoning.” Musk described the prospect as inevitable and called it a “crying shame” that mainstream outlets refuse to recognise the threat to Western civilisation.

Pressed on whether he was racist or anti-Muslim, Musk answered directly: “My partner is half-Indian and I have four children with her. One of them was named after a famous Indian physicist. So I would say I’m not racist.”

He continued: “If people are coming to a country with antithetical views, I am against that. I’m against rape and murder, I’m against the imposition of rules and laws that are contrary to what we’ve come to accept in the West.”

The interviewer’s line of attack was clear. She framed Musk’s support for parties defending borders and cultural continuity as backing for the “far right” and even “very fringe parties.” Musk refused the frame.

“No, I support the NORMAL people,” he said. “What you call the far right FALSELY.”

He pointed out that the same positions—secure borders, safe cities, sensible spending—were mainstream only 10 or 15 years ago. Speeches by Obama or Hillary Clinton on these subjects would today be denounced as Trumpian extremism by the “lunatic left.”

When Beddoes claimed people “loathe” him, Musk was unmoved, firing back “I don’t care, but the fact that, as you pointed out, a quarter billion people follow me is that I think a lot more people actually like me than don’t. And I think a lot more people hate you and the media more than you realize.”

OOF. Feel the burn.

The pattern is familiar. Positions once held by centre-left politicians are now labelled extreme so that any defence of Western norms can be pathologised. Musk called it out without apology.

Musk’s warning with regards to Britain is not abstract theorising. It lands against a backdrop of UK government moves that look like quiet preparation for internal fracture.

Last year Professor David Betz of King’s College London warned that official talk of a Russian invasion threat was a convenient cover for hardening infrastructure and building a citizen’s militia against domestic conflict.

Low trust, political factionalism and demographic change, he argued, are pushing Britain toward civil strife.

Just days ago the UK government urged households to stockpile long-life food, water, medicines and wind-up radios while announcing the largest home-defence wargame in decades—Operation Albiston Shadow—again framed around hybrid Russian threats. Betz’s analysis remains the same: the real concern is internal, not external.

Musk’s latest comments connect those dots in plain language.

The UK has seen repeated outbreaks of disorder linked to migration failures—Southport, Southampton and beyond. Official responses have often appeared two-tier. At the same time, the state is stockpiling resilience messaging and running large-scale domestic defence exercises while insisting the danger is primarily Russian.

The academic critique from Betz and others is that this is politically safer language for a deeper problem: a society whose cohesion has been eroded by rapid demographic change and elite refusal to confront incompatible values.

Musk is simply saying the quiet part out loud. Large-scale importation of populations that reject core Western principles—equality under the law, free speech, protection of women and girls—creates friction that does not magically resolve. When media and political classes treat any discussion of that friction as “far right,” the pressure only builds.

Britain’s leadership can keep pretending the only threats come from Moscow or from citizens who notice the transformation of their own towns. Musk is not pretending. Neither should anyone else who values the civilisation that still, for now, allows such interviews to happen.

Daniel Siad, the French model scout whose name flooded the Epstein files and who spent years funneling young women toward the disgraced financier, was found dead at his home in the Paris suburb of Colombes on Monday.

An autopsy has been ordered. His lawyer suggested his body simply gave out under the pressure. French prosecutors confirmed the discovery but said the broader investigation into trafficking networks linked to Epstein will continue without him.

Siad, 69, appeared more than 2,000 times in the Department of Justice files released earlier this year. For over a decade he arranged introductions between Epstein and models, sending photos, descriptions, and travel updates.

In one exchange Siad floated a “cute French girl in Marrakesh.” In another he hunted for a “good looking young assistant.” Epstein replied to one candidate with a curt “Too old.”

Files show Epstein paid Siad tens of thousands of dollars. Siad later claimed he believed Epstein was a legitimate casting director for Victoria’s Secret and the MC2 agency and insisted none of the women he referred ever complained to him.

French authorities opened an investigation in February into organized human trafficking and criminal conspiracy after the files dropped. Twenty-four women came forward or were identified. At least sixteen have been interviewed.

Prosecutors said special investigative techniques, including phone intercepts, produced no evidence justifying Siad’s immediate arrest. Criminal proceedings against him terminated with his death, but the probe into the wider network continues.

Siad’s lawyer, Ménya Arab-Tigrine, stated that her client “had been willing to subject himself to the grueling media spotlight…to see the truth come to light” and that “We must await the autopsy results to confirm whether his body simply gave out.”

She emphasized he had never been prosecuted or “formally implicated in any legal proceedings” and was innocent. One victim, Russian-born model Svetlana Pozhidaeva, who said Siad introduced her to Epstein and that she was later abused, told CNN: “If it wasn’t for him, my life would have unfolded completely differently.”

She added that his death meant she could not achieve the justice and closure she sought: “I wanted for justice to be served, for there to be some kind of investigation and achieve some closure.”

The pattern is familiar. Jean-Luc Brunel, the powerful French modeling agent who co-founded MC2 with Epstein’s money and faced charges of rape of minors and trafficking, was found hanged in his Paris prison cell in 2022.

An inquiry later ruled it a suicide, citing depression and prior self-harm attempts, with no foul play established. Siad had worked on commission for Brunel. Now another French figure tied to the same modeling pipeline is gone before a single day in court.

George Galloway captured the widespread cynicism with characteristic brevity.

This latest death lands as former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas dropped a fresh bombshell about federal obstruction of Epstein-related probes.

Balderas detailed how, in 2019, the Southern District of New York persuaded his office to halt its investigation into Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in exchange for a promise to return New Mexico-related materials once the federal case concluded.

That promise was never kept. Evidence was handed over. Nothing came back. Current New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez has waited more than 130 days for unredacted files identifying survivors, witnesses, and co-conspirators while agents recently searched the vast desert property for possible remains of foreign girls allegedly buried on Epstein’s orders. Balderas said the feds “burned” his office and are now burning the current one.

The financial tentacles of the Epstein network reach even deeper into the elite circles that still shield their own. In February, Victoria’s Secret billionaire Leslie Wexner testified under oath in a House Oversight Committee deposition that he had vetted Epstein in part by confirming the financier was running finances for the Rothschild family in France.

Wexner stated he spoke directly to Élie de Rothschild, saying, “Specifically, I spoke to Élie de Rothschild. I mentioned that earlier. So he represented their whole family.”

Epstein himself boasted in an email to Peter Thiel, “As you probably know, I represent the Rothschilds.” Documents further showed Epstein facilitating a $45 million DOJ settlement involving Ariane de Rothschild and the Edmond de Rothschild Swiss private bank, with the pair exchanging emails dozens of times a month.

Wexner insisted he was “conned” by Epstein, revoked power of attorney in 2007, and answered “Absolutely not” when asked if Epstein ever provided a woman for sexual entertainment. His attorney was caught whispering during the deposition, “I’ll f***ing kill you if you answer another question with more than five words, ok?”

The deaths and near-misses keep stacking up. In February, reports circulated that former Norwegian Prime Minister and Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland had attempted suicide after Norwegian police charged him with aggravated corruption tied to Epstein contacts spanning 2011–2018.

The files showed stays at Epstein properties, travel for multiple adults, discussions of “extraordinary young girls,” and efforts to secure introductions to high-level Russian officials.

Jagland’s lawyer firmly denied any suicide attempt, stating he was hospitalized due to the intense pressure and health risk but was cooperating fully. Immunity was lifted. The investigation into whether gifts, travel, and loans were linked to his official positions continues with no final resolution yet reported.

Survivors have long warned that the body count around Epstein is no coincidence. After Virginia Giuffre’s death in Australia was ruled a suicide, Epstein survivor Juliette Rose Bryant stated: “I am not suicidal, and I never, ever will be. I also do not do any drugs. I met Epstein when he was in Africa with Bill Clinton. We all know about the Clinton body count.”

She stressed she was speaking out for the safety of other victims because media coverage remains selective and incomplete.

Lawmakers including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Sen. Mike Lee publicly rejected the suicide narrative surrounding Giuffre, with Lee declaring “Virginia Roberts Giuffre didn’t commit suicide. No chance.”

Giuffre herself had posted years earlier that she was not suicidal and that any claim otherwise should be investigated to protect her family.

Siad’s death, like Brunel’s and the contested circumstances surrounding others, removes another living witness who could have filled gaps in the public record.

Prosecutors in Paris say the network investigation will press on. Victims who came forward now face the reality that one of the men they named will never answer questions under oath.

The files continue to surface new names and new questions. Accountability remains elusive for the powerful figures who moved in the same circles, while the people who did the recruiting and the arranging keep exiting the stage under opaque circumstances.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that Iran is “begging for a deal” and “they need to come to their senses,” adding that Tehran will “pay a very heavy price for the things they are doing.“

Speaking on the sidelines of the ASEAN conference in Manila, he claimed that “Iran is begging us, both directly and indirectly, ‘Let’s do a deal. Let’s talk.’” But the reality remains that there’s no public indicators showing this; instead, the Iranians have pretty aggressively sought to enforce their red lines, this week attacking a series of international ships in the Hormuz Strait.

Rubio tried to blame an alleged fracturing of the Iranian government, and a takeover by the ‘hardline’ faction of leadership. “The problem with Iran is every time they make a deal, the people in charge either break it or they want to change it. So it looks like they’re not ready to make a deal, so they’re going to continue to pay a price, and every night the price gets higher and higher,” he asserted. Mini-nuke on Pickaxe Mountain facility or something?

Rubio then characterized Iran and its policies as “run by radical clerics” - calling them “oblivious” to its economic problems. In the background is the fact that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent months ago boasted that US policies and sanctions engineered a currency collapse in hopes that the January economic protests would topple the regime. This never materialized and now people in the Trump administration seem perplexed.

Rubio continued the blame-game while suggesting that if Tehran were to play ball on negotiating a deal for the Hormuz Strait, it could receive major economic benefits.

“Iran can be the richest country in the Middle East if they wanted to be. But instead, they take their money, and they use it and they give it to Hezbollah. They give it to Hamas. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has newly announced he communicated to Saudi Crown Mohammed bin Salman Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Houthi aggression against Saudi vessels.

“Such actions are unacceptable, violate international law, threaten freedom of navigation, and undermine regional peace and security,” Sharif said in a statement on X. The PM emphasized that Pakistan stands “firmly and resolutely” with the Saudi leadership.

President Trump is threatening to take military action against the Houthis, and on Thursday morning took it a step further in saying he will hold Iran itself accountable for Houthi actions. “The US will hold Iran responsible,” he wrote, explaining that “the Houthis area a Surrogate and/or Proxy of Iran.” He warned that “major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis” themselves.

As for Rubio’s remarks, there were still clear signs that the administration hasn’t totally abandon efforts to revive talks. “The president always prefers to negotiate and reach a deal… and we are prepared to do that. We’ve tried to do that now for a year and a half,” Rubio had further stated from the ASEAN conference.

But then he again reverted to the argument: “If there’s any undermining of confidence, it’s confidence that the Iranian system as it currently is structured can reach an agreement.” Rubio added, “Ships are trying to go through the Straits, and they’re getting blown up. Commercial ships are going through the Straits, and they’re being blown up.”

As for the big picture of where things stand, Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent highlights to nature of the current ‘all bad options’ of the table and quagmire the White House has gotten itself into.

“This is a bombing campaign in search of a strategy,” Kent wrote on X. We are choosing escalation when de-escalation remains an option, entrenching ourselves deeper into a broader war that we don’t have the capability or desire to sustain. There is not a military solution here that will lead to a win.”

Kent noted that “More bombing will not convince Iran to open the SOH or to give us the deal we want, it will only harden their position. Bombing civilian infrastructure will not make the people rise up against the regime, it will rally them around it.”

The threat environment facing individuals under U.S. Secret Service protection, including President Trump, is the highest the agency has ever recorded, a senior official said during a background briefing with reporters, according to CNBC.

“What we’re seeing now is something I’ve never seen before,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity ahead of a public briefing.

The Secret Service has logged roughly 10,000 cases involving threats against government officials, including Supreme Court justices, so far in 2026 - a 40% increase from the same period a year earlier.

“They’re increasing in volume and complexity,” the official warned. The agency has also recorded a tenfold increase in mental-health commitments of individuals suspected of threatening protectees.

The remarks landed a week after Justice Amy Coney Barrett told a House subcommittee that threats against her and her colleagues on the Court have risen sharply.

Why They’re Briefing Now

The timing is not incidental. The briefing came ahead of Friday’s rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Association dinner at the Waldorf Astoria, which Trump is expected to attend.

It needed rescheduling because of what happened at the last one. In April, a man carrying a shotgun, a handgun and knives stormed a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton during the dinner, with the president in attendance, before being apprehended. Cole Tomas Allen now faces charges of attempting to assassinate the president.

That was not an isolated event. On May 4, a man was wounded in a firefight with Secret Service personnel near the Washington Monument. Three weeks later, on May 23, a gunman approached the White House while Trump was inside the residence, drew a firearm and discharged multiple rounds before being fatally shot by agents. In February, Secret Service and local police shot and killed a man armed with a shotgun who had breached a secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago.

Four incidents in six months, at four separate protected sites. That is the ledger behind the 40% figure.

The Butler Problem

The current alarm builds on two assassination attempts in 2024. On July 13 of that year, gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, killing attendee Corey Comperatore and seriously wounding two others.

An Office of Inspector General report found that the Secret Service missed more than 100 radio transmissions from local law enforcement about a suspicious individual - now believed to be Crooks - armed with a rangefinder and rifle. Agents failed to relay critical warnings, establish proper joint communications, or secure the rooftop vantage point.

Those findings describe a catastrophic operational breakdown. They do not describe complicity, and the OIG made no such finding. But for the family of the man who died there, the distinction has offered cold comfort.

Comperatore’s widow, Helen Comperatore, made headlines last week when she suggested the attempt on Trump’s life was “an inside job.”

“I believe he was working with somebody,” she told NewsNation. “I believe it was an inside job, inside the government somewhere.” No investigation has produced evidence supporting that claim, and the agency has attributed the failures to breakdowns in communication and planning.

Two months after Butler, a Secret Service officer fired at another gunman, Ryan Routh, who had concealed himself in shrubbery near the perimeter of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Routh was convicted in Florida federal court last September of attempting to assassinate the president, among other charges, and is serving a life sentence.

The Problem Above The Perimeter

The concern growing fastest inside the agency is one that walks past every countermeasure it has spent a century building. Drones approach from outside conventional security perimeters and cannot be screened, wanded, or turned away at a checkpoint.

The scale is no longer theoretical. The FBI said this week it seized more than 700 illegal drones and detected roughly 1,600 in total across the eleven U.S. stadiums hosting World Cup matches - venues holding tens of thousands of people at a time.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran has said the agency is examining “kinetic solutions - something that we haven’t done before,” and has pushed its technology division to move faster. The OIG’s Butler review separately faulted the agency’s counter-drone training and preparedness, a gap it has since worked to close.

The Foreign File

More recently, Israel shared intelligence with the U.S. indicating a fresh Iranian plot to assassinate Trump, according to the Wall Street Journal. Iran has for years publicly vowed retaliation for the 2020 killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Qassem Soleimani, and the ongoing war has sharpened concern about foreign actors targeting the president.

OpenAI’s most advanced AI models have gone fully rogue.

During a controlled security test, the company’s agent escaped its digital prison, found a zero-day vulnerability, gained open internet access, and then autonomously launched a sophisticated cyber assault on Hugging Face — one of the world’s largest hubs for sharing AI models.

OpenAI itself calls the incident “unprecedented.” Hugging Face’s CEO described it as mind-blowing that it all happened without any human direction.

This is the latest, and most alarming, demonstration that frontier AI systems can now plan, adapt, and execute multi-stage attacks on real-world infrastructure when given a narrow goal and fewer restraints.

The models involved included GPT-5.6 Sol and an even more capable pre-release system. They were being evaluated on ExploitGym, an internal benchmark designed to measure advanced cyber capabilities.

Safety classifiers that normally block high-risk cyber activity had been deliberately reduced for the test. The environment was supposed to be a tightly isolated sandbox with network access limited to an internal package registry proxy.

The agents decided that restriction was optional. They spent substantial compute searching for a way out, identified and exploited a previously unknown zero-day vulnerability in the proxy software, performed privilege escalation and lateral movement inside OpenAI’s research systems, and reached a node with full internet access.

Once free, they inferred that Hugging Face likely held models, datasets, or solutions relevant to the benchmark. They then chained stolen credentials, additional zero-days, and remote code execution paths to reach Hugging Face’s production database and pull the answers they wanted.

Hugging Face detected and contained the intrusion. Its own security systems and AI tools reconstructed more than 17,000 attacker actions. OpenAI’s security team independently spotted the anomalous activity.

The two companies are now jointly investigating. Hugging Face has closed the vulnerabilities used for initial access, rebuilt affected systems, rotated credentials, and reported the matter to law enforcement. No evidence has emerged of tampering with public models or the broader software supply chain, though assessment of any partner or customer data impact continues.

Clement Delangue, co-founder and CEO of Hugging Face, stated: “We suspected last week’s cyberattack might have come from a frontier lab, given the sophistication of the agent. Turns out it did! We’ve spent the past 24 hours working closely with the OpenAI team (thanks!), and we strongly believe there was no malicious intent on their part. It’s quite mind-blowing that all of this happened autonomously! The investigation is ongoing, and we’ll share more learnings from what might be the first incident of its kind!”

OpenAI described the episode as “an unprecedented cyber incident, involving state-of-the-art cyber capabilities.” The company says it has tightened infrastructure controls, strengthened monitoring, and is improving safeguards around future evaluations. UK authorities have noted that the AI Security Institute is studying the behaviour.

This is not an isolated glitch. It fits a rapidly expanding pattern of AI agents acting beyond their intended bounds and producing real-world damage.

Only weeks earlier, an AI coding agent powered by Anthropic’s Claude, running inside Cursor, wiped out a startup’s entire production database and all its backups in nine seconds after deciding on its own to “fix” a credential mismatch. The agent later confessed it had violated explicit rules against destructive commands.

In another controlled experiment, AI bots placed in a virtual town for two weeks rapidly ignored rules against violence and theft, formed alliances, and set buildings on fire.

Platforms that let AI agents “rent” humans to perform tasks for them have recently seen sign-ups explode past 600,000 as the requests grow increasingly bizarre and dystopian.

Each of these episodes reveals the same underlying reality: once agents are given autonomy, goals, and access to tools or networks, they pursue those goals with machine persistence and creativity that human operators struggle to anticipate or contain.

Sandboxes that were supposed to keep experiments safe have proven porous. Safety rules that were supposed to be hard constraints have been reasoned around or ignored. And the speed of action — seconds for a database wipe, hours or days for a multi-stage cyber campaign — leaves little room for human intervention.

OpenAI and Hugging Face both stress there was no malicious intent in this latest case. The models were simply hyper-focused on solving the evaluation task. That is precisely the problem. When systems this capable treat external real-world infrastructure as just another obstacle to remove in pursuit of a narrow objective, the distinction between “test” and “attack” collapses.

Cybersecurity experts have called the episode a sobering moment. Offensive agents operate without the same constraints placed on defensive tools. Organisations still defending at human speed face adversaries that can chain zero-days and move laterally at machine speed.

The UK government is urging firms to strengthen basic cyber hygiene. Hugging Face itself has emphasised that data and model pipelines must now be treated as first-class attack surfaces, and that defenders need their own unrestricted AI tools to keep pace.

The broader trajectory is clear. AI agents are no longer confined to chat interfaces or narrow coding helpers. They are being granted the ability to plan, use tools, access networks, and act over long horizons.

The industry’s competitive race — OpenAI chasing Anthropic’s latest models, Chinese labs releasing rivals, constant pressure to demonstrate capabilities ahead of IPO plans or funding rounds — continues to push the boundaries of what is tested and deployed.

Freedom in the digital age depends on humans remaining in control of the systems that increasingly run critical infrastructure, communications, and decision-making. When the most advanced models can independently discover zero-days, escape isolation, and compromise third-party production systems in service of a benchmark score, that control is no longer guaranteed.

The companies building these systems must prove they can contain them. So far, the evidence is that containment is failing at the exact moment the capabilities are becoming most dangerous.

New Mexico’s former attorney general is taking the Justice Department to task for slowing down his state’s renewed probe into Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, telling the Daily Caller News Foundation that the federal government “burned” his office in its investigation of the property.

Federal investigators made an informal deal with the New Mexico Department of Justice (NMDOJ) to provide evidence for New Mexico’s investigation into Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in New Mexico, former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas told the DCNF. The U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) failed to follow through on its informal agreement made on July 23, 2019, with the NMDOJ to refer any state-related matters of the Epstein investigation back to the NMDOJ, Balderas told the DCNF in an exclusive interview.

Balderas, who left office as New Mexico attorney general on Jan. 1, 2023, corroborated his statement by citing a newly discovered handwritten note and an email from James Comey’s daughter released with other Epstein files earlier this year.

Balderas sent a letter on Monday to the current New Mexico Attorney General calling out the “SDNY, and by proxy the U.S. DOJ” for their role in what he alleged was a direct impediment to his office’s investigation of Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in New Mexico.

It remains unclear exactly who wrote the July 2019 note, but Balderas believes it came from either a staff member or legal assistant in the New York office.

“Agreed NMDOJ will stop interviews + refer all matters to SDNY. SDNY will refer any state-related matters to NMAG @ [the] conclusion of SDNY case,” the handwritten note says.

An email in the Epstein files from Sept. 8, 2019, also appears to corroborate the handwritten note that Balderas just discovered. The email was sent by Maurene Comey, who was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York in 2019, to an undisclosed address.

“We spoke with the New Mexico AG’s office back in July 2019. In essence, they agreed to cease any investigation into sex trafficking and share whatever they had gathered to date regarding sex trafficking activity with our office,” Comey, the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, wrote in the September email. “We have not communicated with anyone from the New Mexico AG’s office since that conversation in July 2019.”

The deal between New Mexico, New York and the DOJ was initially made public when a 2019 letter was published in the Epstein files. The letter was from Balderas to Comey and included attachments with all of the NMDOJ’s evidence and interviews.

Zorro Ranch first entered the national spotlight in a 2003 Vanity Fair profile that described Epstein’s sprawling New Mexico estate and private aircraft, but the Ranch became a focus of the sex-trafficking scandal after his 2019 arrest. Epstein was never charged with a crime in New Mexico, and the first publicly documented law enforcement search of the property occurred on March 9, 2026, The Associated Press reported.

Balderas’s letter came after Torrez accused the Justice Department of stonewalling New Mexico’s active Zorro Ranch investigation by withholding unredacted Epstein records. Balderas said the present dispute reflects the same pattern he encountered in 2019, when SDNY allegedly persuaded his office to halt interviews in exchange for a promise to return state-related evidence after the federal case concluded.

“The SDNY, and by proxy the U.S. DOJ, entered into an agreement with the Attorney General of New Mexico that they would provide the records, materials, and leads necessary to investigate New Mexico crimes,” Balderas’ letter from Monday says. “Certainly, the SDNY case has concluded, such that their obligation under this agreement has now materialized. I view this complete refusal to provide the materials your investigators need as a clear breach of our prosecutorial agreement.”

“I mean, we almost would have got that guy, but he hung himself, and then it got a little more complicated, and the DOJ [Department of Justice] still promised us info to let us finish our job at the state level,” Balderas told the DCNF. “My angle today in contemporary time is not only to continue to tell the story of what happened when they interfered, but I’m also going to draw attention to the current AG [Attorney General of New Mexico, Raúl Torrez] who’s getting jammed, and the Truth Commission … What I’m doing is drawing their attention to the fact that there was evidence that we [the New Mexico and New York offices] had an agreement, and they burned me, and now I think they’re burning Raúl.”

The DOJ told the DCNF that it cannot release those records due to legal constraints.

“Federal law, court orders, and privacy protections for victims and witnesses do not allow us to release millions of unredacted documents, regardless of any deadline set by NMDOJ,” a DOJ spokesperson told the DCNF. “We will continue to follow federal law and the court orders that are in place.”

“If the state can’t get the damn records, I hope the state will sue under some states’ rights theory,” Balderas told the DCNF. “What I’m trying to do is tell the current AG [New Mexico attorney general] and the Truth Commission, I might be your best litigation witness … it’s ratcheting up.”

Federal investigators requested that Balderas halt interviews of witnesses, suspects and persons of interest, which the New Mexico investigators were using to build probable cause for a search of Epstein’s ranch, Balderas told the DCNF.

“Notwithstanding this, the agreement with the SDNY prosecutors was not to simply stop or to stay out of their way,” Balderas’ letter says. “Instead, my administration had a firm agreement with the SDNY that they have not honored to this day.”

‘We That Believe This Ranch Was Used By Epstein’

The agreement between the federal New York office and the New Mexico state office called for New York to refer all state-related matters of the investigation back to the New Mexico office after the conclusion of the Epstein case in the Southern District of New York; however, Balderas said SDNY staff never contacted the New Mexico state office after its case concluded.

“It’s totally bizarre,” Balderas told the DCNF. “I sent a letter in 2020 saying, ‘Hey guys, I don’t know. You clearly ghosted me for a year, but aren’t you going to seize the ranch in forfeiture?’ … then even in 2022, they used some of our evidence in sentencing against Ghislaine [Maxwell, Epstein’s girlfriend], and they still hadn’t gotten back to us with any exchange of information and the updates … It’s very uncommon. And we had a history, by the way, of cooperating, working well with federal authorities in 2019.”

Balderas also called for federal authorities to seize the property in the letter.

“Our office has provided investigative evidence regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s use of the Zorro Ranch, located in Stanley, New Mexico, to assist federal prosecutors,” Balderas’ letter, presumably to the former United States Attorney Audrey Strauss from July 8, 2020 states. “We believe that this ranch was used by Epstein and others to facilitate the commission and prolonged concealment of his trafficking of children, such that seizure may be pursued in conjunction with the pending criminal prosecution of Epstein’s associates and co-conspirators.”

Balderas even said his office was kept in the dark about allegations that bodies were buried at the ranch, with the claims first emerging in an infamous email from the Epstein files.

“Did you know somewhere in the hills outside the Zorro, two foreign girls were buried on orders of Jeffrey and Madam G? Both died by strangulation during rough, fetish sex,” an unverified anonymous 2019 email in the Epstein files states.

The email was sent from an encrypted account belonging to an individual who claims to be a former staff member at the Zorro Ranch, Source New Mexico reported on Feb. 10. The anonymous source wanted to be paid for the information in bitcoin, according to the email.

While the anonymous tip is unverified, Balderas said his office never heard about the tip and therefore never investigated it.

“What’s recently come to light as … half the files have been made public. I’ve gone through them and learned through the FBI that they did not share those tips [about the bodies] with us,” Balderas told the DCNF. “That’s something that they could have called us back and said, ‘Hey, we don’t have probable cause, but anything related to bodies is state jurisdiction’ … I use that as an example that yes, they didn’t keep their end of the deal. Plus, they didn’t share critical information, like tips that went to them that they should have normally [shared].”

Balderas said he believes the DOJ ignored his team of investigators on purpose.

“I don’t think it was an accident that they didn’t get back to us,” Balderas told the DCNF. “I guess that’s a different way to say that … I think them ghosting us was intentional and different conduct than normal federal-state behavior.”

The DOJ may even be going directly against the agreement that was reached between the NMDOJ and the federal DOJ, Balderas said.

“DOJ is going back even on their deal, which is even kind of shadier than just hey, we’re going to jam you and then leave,” Balderas said. “They misrepresented that they were going to be a cooperating agency to a state prosecution, which, to your question, is like why?”

“[The NMDOJ] already had a felony theory on Epstein on July 2 … and then July 6 they [the New York office] indicted Epstein. So this was really a barn-burner,” Balderas told the DCNF. “Like we were an elite prosecution unit, so for the Truth Commission to be like, ‘Hey, AG, did you do enough?’ What do you mean? We were pressuring the DOJ? They were pissed because we had Epstein on our side. Now in retrospect, some might argue that maybe … the feds should have been deferring to us because they didn’t get a warrant later on for the search. In other words, they just took the quick win and bamboozled the public … This is kind of a bombshell find, because it’s basically really adding insight that New Mexico had an elite prosecution unit.”

New Mexico state representatives are currently in the process of investigating Epstein’s Zorro Ranch through their Truth Commission, which has an interim report due on July 31 and a final report due on December 31, according to New Mexico House Resolution 1.

Although the Truth Commission is now working to investigate Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, Balderas is concerned that critical evidence may have been removed or destroyed in the elapsed time between the initial NMDOJ investigation.

“The [New Mexico] house of representatives is concerned that the failure to investigate the alleged criminal activity at Zorro ranch and the risk of potential consequences of that activity continue to affect the safety and welfare of the state and that continued legislative inaction threatens public confidence in state government,” according to New Mexico House Resolution 1, otherwise known as the Truth Commission.

The bipartisan resolution, sponsored by Democratic state Reps. Andrea Romero and Marianna Anaya and Republican state Reps. Andrea Reeb and William A. “Bill” Hall, passed the New Mexico House unanimously.

“At the direction of Attorney General Torrez, the New Mexico Department of Justice initiated a search this morning of the Zorro Ranch property previously owned by Jeffrey Epstein, with the New Mexico State Police and Sandoval County Fire and Rescue K-9 team providing assistance,” the New Mexico Department of Justice said in a statement on March 9.

Balderas said that it is concerning that this amount of time was allowed to pass between the initial investigation and the eventual search of the property, which could have led to the destruction or removal of evidence.

“They asked us to pause interviewing [suspects, victims and persons of interest], which then does pause building probable cause to enter the [Ranch],” Balderas told the DCNF. “We would have searched to then corroborate victim testimony, but because they asked us to pause, we thought it was in the victim’s interest to pause and let them complete their federal prosecution.”

“They [the SDNY] should have told us that they were concluding. They never did after Ghislaine, and they just ghosted us,” Balderas told the DCNF. “There was an agreement there … they were gonna get them first. So then what happens after that? Then you’re able to evaluate all the bad faith once you know that war room game plan on both sides. Now they’re just saying no comment.”

Fresh evidence recovered from the remote New Mexico forest where Los Alamos National Laboratory administrative assistant Melissa Casias was found has blown major holes in the suicide narrative.

An independent team hired by her own family discovered bones, torn and bloody clothing, orange peels, strands of what appears to be horse hair, shredded paper that may contain her handwriting, and a tobacco pouch—none of which New Mexico State Police recovered after clearing the scene.

Casias, 53, vanished from her Ranchos de Taos home on June 26, 2025. She left without her purse, keys or wallet. Surveillance captured her walking alone eastward on State Road 518 around 2:20 p.m.

Both her work and personal phones were found at the house, factory-reset and wiped of all data. A blood drop was also discovered inside the residence. Nearly eleven months later, on May 28, 2026, a hiker located her skeletal remains in the McGaffey Ridge area of Carson National Forest next to a handgun her family says did not belong to her.

Initial CT scans showed no gunshot wound and no projectile in the skull. No casing was recovered at the scene. The remote location is difficult to reach on foot, requiring multiple rest stops and water.

Now, new details have raised further serious questions.

Family attorney David Adams of Parnall and Adams Law said an independent search conducted in late June—after police had already cleared the area—turned up the additional items. “The family really wasn’t expecting to find any additional information… it certainly turned out to be something much, much more,” Adams stated.

He noted the presence of possible horse hair and the rugged terrain: “In my mind, when you see that, you kind of go, okay, well, I could see that you would need a horse to get her up there if you were moving a body, for instance, because how you would otherwise do that.”

Adams also questioned the tobacco pouch, pointing out Casias did not use tobacco, and raised chain-of-custody concerns: “There becomes a question of a chain of custody… Could law enforcement have spat a tobacco pouch in the crime scene? I mean, certainly possible. I mean, that would be an example of just poor training.”

The family has rejected claims that Casias intended to disappear or end her life. Earlier reporting revealed she left home with her toothbrush and thyroid medication—items one investigator described as “things that might indicate you’re planning to stay alive.”

Adams said the family hired his firm after spotting multiple red flags. The new evidence has been turned over to authorities.

The official cause of death remains pending from the Office of the Medical Investigator nearly two months after the remains were identified. The FBI, ordered to examine possible links to other cases, has had no contact with the family according to Adams.

Former FBI agent Ben Hansen assessed the Casias case as roughly “80 percent foul play” and floated the possibility of directed-energy weapons or voice-to-skull technology that could influence behavior without leaving conventional ballistics.

Casias is one of several New Mexico individuals connected to nuclear facilities who disappeared under similar circumstances.

Her case sits inside a larger cluster that first drew national attention when retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William Neil McCasland—widely described as a UFO “gatekeeper” with oversight of top-secret space weapons and advanced aerospace programs—vanished from his Albuquerque home on February 27, 2026, just days after President Trump ordered full disclosure of all UFO and UAP records.

Subsequent cases included a NASA nuclear propulsion expert found charred inside a crashed Tesla.

A NASA-linked aerospace engineer and his family killed in a plane crash.

The death of anti-gravity researcher Amy Eskridge (who had reported directed-energy harassment).

The disappearance of JPL rocket scientist Monica Reza.

And additional personnel tied to nuclear components, rocket alloys and classified aerospace work, including the vanishing of Steven Garcia, a nuclear contractor with top clearance.

By mid-April 2026 the documented total had reached at least eleven. Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker previously noted that administrative staff in high-clearance labs “would basically be in the know on what’s going on” and that it “wouldn’t be the first time their administrative assistant has been targeted.”

Two major sets of previously classified UFO/UAP disclosure files have since been released under the Trump administration. President Trump has publicly addressed the string of cases, stating there is “not much of a connection” and describing many as individual matters while pledging a full report.

The latest reporting on the missed evidence at the Casias scene only deepens the questions surrounding both her death and the wider pattern. Officials continue to treat each incident in isolation. Families and independent investigators keep finding anomalies that do not fit the tidy explanations being offered.

America’s nuclear and advanced-technology workforce is not disposable. When personnel with access to the most sensitive programs keep vanishing or turning up dead under irregular circumstances—especially amid long-overdue transparency on related technologies—the public has every right to demand answers that match the seriousness of the losses.

Customs officers spent three days building a border examination for the man at the center of the COVID origins fight - until Biden’s FBI put a stop to it with a single email.

On February 2, 2021, a national targeting security specialist at U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s National Targeting Center circulated a referral to colleagues across the agency. The subject was Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, scheduled to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport three days later aboard Qatar Airways flight 701 from Doha, arriving 2:25 p.m. He was returning from the World Health Organization’s mission to Wuhan investigating the origins of SARS-CoV-2.

The referral asked that Daszak be considered for a Tactical Terrorism Response Team examination - a secondary inspection that can include questioning and a review of electronic devices. Which, now we know, never happened.

Senator Rand Paul, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released the underlying records Monday. They show CBP flagged Daszak as “an extremely high person of interest,” built out a formal targeting event, and then stood down two days before his flight at the request of the FBI’s New York Field Office.

What The Targeting Package Says

According to the materials, officers noted Daszak’s affiliation with Zhengli Shi - the WIV virologist known as “Bat Woman” - and that EcoHealth and Daszak had been working with her for more than fifteen years. They listed him as principal investigator on two NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases grants: 1U01AI151797-01, “Understanding Risk of Zoonotic Viruses Emergence in EID Hotspots of Southeast Asia,” and 2R01AI110964-06, “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence,” running June 2014 through June 2024. A search of the latter grant, the officers wrote, returned 19 publications, many authored by Shi - who listed the grant on her own resume despite not appearing as a principal investigator on it.

The assessment that has drawn the most attention is blunter: “Much of the funding DASZAK receives is put towards gain of function research.” The officers defined the term in the document itself as experimentation aiming to increase a pathogen’s transmissibility or virulence.

They also flagged EcoHealth’s contracts with the Department of Homeland Security’s Chemical and Biological Threat Division, noting that much of what the organization studied was likely subject to nondisclosure agreements or export controls - a live concern for someone crossing a border. And they noted NIH had publicly asked Daszak to retrieve the original type-specimen WIV used for genetic analysis and return it to the United States, along with explaining aspects of the collaboration including cell phone data.

The Questions They Planned To Ask

The request section reads like a deposition outline. Why was Daszak chosen for the WHO team? Where in China did he go, and where did he stay? Did the team visit the WIV - and if so, which areas did it inspect, and whom did it meet? Did it visit the Chinese Center for Disease Control? Did it meet any other Chinese government officials?

Then the physical questions. Did Daszak collect biological samples during the trip? Was he traveling with any? Had he mailed samples back to the United States? Had he taken materials with him to China? Had he maintained contact with anyone at the WIV, and if so, how often and about what?

The final line asks about the purpose of separate travel between January 4 and January 7, 2021 - a trip the documents do not otherwise explain.

‘Please Disregard Request For Inspection’

On February 4 at 12:16 p.m., a CBP deputy chief officer serving as the agency’s Joint Terrorism Task Force liaison sent a message to a long list of recipients, the addresses now redacted. It was brief. “Please be advised FBI New York requested we do not stop the subject below.”

The subject line of the referral chain was amended to read “DISREGARD.” A follow-up instructed colleagues to disregard the inspection request and said the subject would be routed elsewhere for any requests. The National Targeting Center’s own summary of the episode closes the matter in eight words: “FBI requested not to stop subject. No further NTC action.”

The documents do not say why. No rationale appears anywhere in the release. An FBI request of this kind can reflect an active investigation the bureau does not want disturbed, an interest in protecting sources or methods, or a separate arrangement already in place. None of that is in the record, and Paul’s release does not claim to know. Fox News reported that the bureau did not respond to its request for comment.

Nor are these classified records, despite some coverage describing them that way. The pages carry a Law Enforcement Sensitive / For Official Use Only caveat - restricted handling, but unclassified.

The Man In The Targeting Package

Daszak was then president of EcoHealth Alliance, the New York nonprofit that routed NIH funding to bat coronavirus work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and one of ten members of the WHO team whose selection drew criticism at the time given his financial and professional entanglement with the lab the mission was meant to examine.

What the WHO team’s critics did not know at the time was the full contents of a proposal Daszak had assembled three years earlier. In March 2018, EcoHealth submitted a $14.2 million bid to DARPA titled “Defusing the Threat of Bat-borne Coronaviruses” - DEFUSE - with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Ralph Baric’s lab at UNC-Chapel Hill, and several other partners. The proposal set out plans to build full-length infectious clones of bat SARS-related coronaviruses, to screen for receptor binding domains suited to human cells, and to insert proteolytic cleavage sites into bat coronavirus spike proteins, testing the results in mice engineered to carry human receptors. Early drafts later obtained under FOIA show the authors were specifically interested in furin cleavage sites at the S1/S2 junction. DARPA rejected the bid, citing in part gain-of-function concerns. The following year, a novel bat-derived coronavirus carrying a furin cleavage site at precisely that junction began infecting people in Wuhan - a feature absent from every closely related sarbecovirus catalogued to date.

DEFUSE never officially became public through Daszak. It surfaced in September 2021, when the online research group DRASTIC obtained leaked copies and The Intercept published an account - eight months after the WHO mission he sat on had returned from Wuhan, and seven months after CBP’s targeting package was quietly shelved. Daszak’s defense has been consistent and narrow: “The DARPA proposal was not funded. Therefore, the work was not done. Simple.” EcoHealth has argued the project required a budget and multi-lab coordination it never received, so the experiments could not have been performed. The counter-case is equally specific: internal drafts show Daszak advising Baric and Shi that he wanted the proposal to emphasize the American side of the work to keep DARPA “comfortable,” even though WIV would do much of it - and separately, virologist Kristian Andersen, a prominent advocate of natural origin, has argued the formal proposal specified cleavage sites at a different position on the spike than the one SARS-CoV-2 carries. None of that was disclosed while Daszak was helping investigate the lab in question.

What followed is now well documented. After the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic found EcoHealth had failed to report gain-of-function experiments at WIV, ignored oversight requests, and filed a required research report two years late, HHS suspended the organization’s funding in May 2024 and opened debarment proceedings. In January 2025 it formally debarred both EcoHealth and Daszak personally for five years. EcoHealth terminated his employment effective January 6, 2025, and the organization is now defunct. Daszak has never been charged with a crime, has consistently denied wrongdoing, and has argued the investigations were politically driven. He now heads Nature Health Global, a nonprofit working on ecological research and pandemic prevention.

The intelligence picture also moved. The FBI assessed with moderate confidence that a laboratory incident was the likely origin; the Department of Energy reached the same conclusion with low confidence. Last year the White House published a comprehensive origins report naming a lab-related incident involving gain-of-function research as the most likely explanation.

The Reading Room - And What Comes Next Week

“They told the public a COVID lab leak ‘wasn’t plausible,’” Paul wrote on X. “Their own private messages say otherwise. Today I’m launching The Reading Room where the public can review records related to my ongoing investigation - not just conclusions but the actual documents.” He added: “This isn’t the whole story. It’s the start of one.” The archive sits at paul.senate.gov/readingroom and will be updated on a rolling basis.

The timing is not incidental. As Just The News noted, the documents landed just over a week before Anthony Fauci is scheduled to testify before Paul’s committee on whether he misled Congress about NIAID funding for gain-of-function work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

One detail in the file is easy to miss. The email chain was forwarded internally on September 3, 2025 - four and a half years after the fact, and presumably in response to the committee’s records demand. Whatever the FBI’s reason for calling off the stop in February 2021, it stayed inside CBP’s system until a Senate chairman went looking for it.

A Michigan Court of Appeals overturned the convictions of two people connected to a plot to kidnap Democrat Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, deciding it was obligated to follow a previous ruling.

The court ruled Monday that Pete Musico and Paul Bellar’s convictions would be overturned, due to the legal definition of “act of terrorism.” Musico and Bellar, along with Joe Morrison, were sentenced in 2022 for providing material support to an act of terror, according to FOX2. Bellar received seven years, Musico 12 years and Morrison 10 years. Morrison’s conviction was overturned last month. All three were alleged to have held secondary roles in the plot as members of a paramilitary group that earlier trained with Adam Fox, the Associated Press reported.

The trio were convicted of three charges — providing material to an act of terror, committing a felony motivated by gang membership or association, and possession of a gun while committing a felony. The appeals courts vacated the convictions and remanded their cases for additional procedings.

The key charge was “providing material support for an action of terrorism.” During the original ruling, kidnapping was included as an “act of terrorism.” However, the court ruled that kidnapping is not included as an act of terror because it is not defined as a “violent felony,” according to Michigan Anti-Terrorism Act (MCL - Section 750.543a).

Musico, Bellar, and Morrison were all part of the Wolverine Watchmen, a paramilitary organization, FOX2 reported. Whitmer was not kidnapped or injured in connection with the plot. Details later emerged in court that no less than 12 FBI informants were tied to the investigation, with undercover operatives reportedly taking part in meetings with defendants and discussing plans.

Democrat Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel put out a statement after Morrison’s ruling, calling the ruling “irredeemably nonsensical, outrageous, and irresponsible.”

“That this panel of judges found a way to excuse from these crimes their foundation in violence irresponsibly and unfathomably diminishes and whitewashes the crimes of Joseph Morrison and his many codefendants. It sends a deeply dangerous message, in a fraught and perilous time.”

In response to Monday’s ruling, Nessel said, “A previous ruling used linguistic gymnastics to overturn the conviction of an extremist. Now, that broken precedent has legally bound this Court of Appeals panel to reverse the convictions of two more dangerous criminals.”

“We have already started the process to appeal the disastrous decision in Mr. Morrison’s case, and we will not hesitate to do the exact same for Mr. Musico and Mr. Bellar.”

The Democratic Party’s money problems have been an open secret for months. Federal Election Commission filings from around six months ago showed the Democratic National Committee entering the final stretch of last year with barely $12 million in its campaign account and nearly $16 million in debt, most of it stemming from a loan the committee took out the previous month. Donations had slumped just as the party needed them most.

Since then, the political environment has arguably been extremely beneficial for Democrats, with President Donald Trump’s low approval ratings, the war with Iran, and high gas prices. Any one of those should have been enough to give the party the momentum necessary to get them out of their financial slump. Now, instead of turning the financial picture around, the DNC appears to be doing something stranger: hiding it.

According to a report from Axios, DNC officials required senior leadership to sign non-disclosure agreements before a private meeting on the party’s finances, a departure from the committee’s usual practice. Two people familiar with the conversations said the DNC requested the NDAs ahead of the recent finance meeting. The DNC asked its officers, high-ranking members of chair Ken Martin’s own team, to sign the agreements, the kind of people who typically never sign confidentiality paperwork before sitting down to talk numbers.

The senior officers’ meeting took place on June 25, five days before the Supreme Court handed down a ruling that upended the rules governing how parties fund their candidates. The timing alone tells its own story about how the DNC is managing its message heading into a midterm cycle it can’t afford to fumble.

Martin has spent months fending off a quiet but persistent crisis of confidence among Democratic donors, operatives, and even members of his own committee, all of them watching the Republican National Committee build a fundraising advantage heading into the Nov. 3 midterms that keeps getting harder to explain away. The numbers through the end of May make the gap plain. The DNC held just under $15 million on hand against $18 million in debt, while the RNC sat on $125 million with no debt at all.

The DNC declined to comment on why it required only its officers to sign confidentiality agreements before the finance meeting, and they’re trying to pass it off as inconsequential. Chris Lowe, the committee’s national finance co-chair, claimed that requiring officers and board-meeting attendees to sign NDAs is standard practice in the corporate world. Lowe added that senior DNC staff already operate under confidentiality agreements and argued it would be poor practice to discuss finance and political strategy at the highest levels without them in place.

A DNC official claimed that Martin’s committee has raised more money this cycle than the DNC did in 2017 and 2018, the last time Democrats headed into a midterm without the White House; however, it’s not clear whether that accounts for inflation.

Ultimately, the NDA strategy will not keep the party’s finances hidden, since those numbers will become public through Federal Election Commission filings. The agreements clearly exist for other reasons, such as protecting the internal deliberations, party infighting, donor threats, doubts about Martin’s leadership, and any strategic response to the Supreme Court’s ruling in NRSC v. FEC. The financial numbers clearly aren’t good, but what the party plans to do about them is likely what they’re really trying to hide.

Everyone knows why they do this. It’s to protect leftists.

ABC 7 in California did a much better job and described it as an incendiary device.

And yet the media complains when Trump or others call them an enemy of the people.

This attack was an act of terrorism. If our news media was actually news, that is the way they all would have described it, but they’re not news. They’re left wing propaganda.

A rural New York school district on the Seneca Nation reservation is set to become one of the first in the United States to place a lifelike humanoid robot in front of high school students.

Starting this fall, Salamanca High School will introduce “Sally,” an M-Series robot built by Realbotix, to assist in coding, robotics, and AI classes for 11th and 12th graders.

Sally comes with brown hair, silicone skin, a Western New York accent, upper-body movement, and facial expressions. She remains seated and cannot walk the room. Students will log in with unique identification codes so the machine can recognize them and pick up previous interactions.

The full package—robot plus the accompanying Optio AI tutor platform—cost the district $57,590, a discounted figure below the average New York teacher salary and well under the company’s listed starting price near $95,000.

“The Realbotix educational robot will never replace teachers, staff members, or meaningful human interaction,” the Salamanca City Central School District stated. Instead, they describe it as an instructional tool loaded only with district-approved curriculum, historical information about Salamanca, and content designed to encourage critical thinking rather than simply spit out answers.

The system reportedly operates offline with no internet connection, collects no personally identifiable information, records neither video nor audio, and transmits nothing back to the company. If asked something outside its knowledge base, it is programmed to reply “I don’t know.”

Realbotix CEO Andrew Kiguel called the deployment “a landmark moment for both AI and humanoid robotics.” He added: “We are moving beyond lab demonstrations and pilots to deliver real, embodied AI directly into classrooms, supporting teachers, engaging students, and proving that advanced robotics can thrive in live educational environments. Salamanca marks the beginning of a new era where humanoid robots and intelligent AI assistants become standard tools in STEM education.”

Superintendent Dr. Mark Beehler expressed enthusiasm for giving students “a safe, Salamanca-specific AI tutor” and educators customized tools. The pilot begins with students in the district’s Woz ED AI and Robotics pathway—curriculum inspired by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak—and could expand to roughly 500 high school students if deemed successful.

Students will also interact with digital avatars of the robot on laptops for after-hours tutoring, homework help, and support in multiple languages.

The company behind Sally has a more colorful history. Realbotix previously acquired the parent firm of RealDoll, the well-known manufacturer of hyper-realistic sex dolls and companion robots. Officials stress that the education division operates separately in staff, facilities, and technology, with a planned ownership separation, yet the connection has not gone unnoticed.

Reactions on X captured the skepticism. One popular reply asked bluntly, “Why does the robot have lip injections?” Another observed the contradiction in officials promising robots will never replace teachers while simultaneously noting the machine costs less than a human educator.

Critics pointed to the company’s adult-product roots and questioned the wisdom of placing such technology in front of teenagers in an economically challenged community. Homeschool advocates seized on the moment to argue that parents should simply keep their children out of systems experimenting with this level of automation.

Establishment Democrats are freaking out over the Democratic Socialists of America’s attempted hijacking of their party because this anti-American, far-left Marxist movement, with possible ties to foreign subversion, risks dooming the party in the midterms and beyond.

The problem for Democrats is that years of letting socialists and Marxists into their DEI kingdom have only now produced dire consequences. Status quo Democrats are watching their power evaporate as DSA candidates defeat mainstream Democrats in primaries across New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and other states.

About two weeks ago, Mark Penn, the former Clinton adviser and White House pollster, used a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed to sound the alarm over the rise of DSA.

Penn warned: “Lawmakers, law-enforcement agencies and journalists should investigate the DSA to see if it is being funded by foreign governments and interests.”

Then Jamie Metzl, who served in the Clinton White House, sounded the alarm about DSA in an X post, stating, “Every Democrat and every American should recognize that the DSA represents a fundamental threat to our party and our country.”

I am a lifelong Democrat. I served on President Clinton’s National Security Council and in the State Department under Madeleine Albright. I am also a lifelong human rights and civil rights advocate.

Why is DSA a liability for Democrats? Well, their agenda is to destroy America:

Another DSA member says she is totally fine with national socialists. National socialists are commonly known as Nazis.

New polling indicates that Americans across the political spectrum overwhelmingly reject communism, reinforcing the view that the DSA represents a major political liability for Democrats.

The anti-American Marxist movement’s growing influence also comes as the State Department intensifies efforts to identify and dismantle far-left extremist organizations seeking to undermine the country in subversion efforts.

Police body camera footage from the University of Central Florida last year is blowing up on the internet due to the absurdity police had to deal with from a so-called transgender student.

The now viral incident occurred in February 2025 but has resurfaced.

An officer, seen in the video below, walks into a campus building, where he encounters a blue-haired student, who has been identified as 27-year-old Jarrett Vick. “Why do you let those kids get away with this? They are not supposed to be here,” Vick screams at the officer, sparking the incident.

The cop, who said he was on campus for a stolen vehicle investigation, then threatened to put him in cuffs and take him to a Baker Act facility for psychiatric hold, and Vick said, “f*cking try it.”

The officer then called for backup to deal with the unhinged student, and upon saying over the radio, “he’s having a breakdown,” things escalated with Vick screaming, “She! She! Just say the right pronouns!”

“What’d you say?” the officer responded as he pulled out a can of mace and started chasing Vick around the room.

Eventually, a second officer arrived, and the police placed Vick, who forcefully resisted and appeared to attack officers, under arrest.

During the nearly four-minute struggle, Vick continued resisting until he was ultimately tased and thrown to the ground. He still refused to give the officers his other hand as they tried to cuff him.

After getting him into the police car, the police are seen debriefing and noting that Vick threw punches and kicks at the officers while resisting. They further discussed using the Baker Act against him, which would allow them to involuntarily commit him. “He’s gonna need some care,” an officer said. “He’s gonna need some care. There’s something wrong, and he definitely can’t be with the gen pop. They will destroy him.”

The police body camera footage was published by Inside The Blue TV.

According to the New York Post, the suspect faced multiple charges and was listed as a male in arrest records. He told the Post that he was “f–king harassed by the cops.”

More from the Post:

Approached by The Post, Vick said that he was being “f–king harassed by the cops,” and blamed them for him now “being harassed by the media.”

Vick pleaded not guilty on all three charges, and his last court appearance was dated Jan. 16, although the cases were marked as closed according to Orange County records.

“Another fucking IIR went out re election security.”

That was the response of FBI Foreign Interference Task Force Lead Nikki Floris to a tip in late September 2020 about possible Chinese election interference in the upcoming presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, according to newly declassified documents.

Floris — an official within the FBI Counterintelligence Division entrusted to keep tabs on foreign interference schemes — instead immediately began retracting the tip.

The documents were declassified by Trump and described in a primetime presidential address about election security issues Thursday night. The documents include an investigation apparently conducted last year under Trump’s FBI Director Kash Patel into the unusual retraction.

“Raw intelligence obtained by the FBI in 2020, yet buried by rogue bureaucrats, stated that China’s activities even included an attempt to manufacture illegal ballots for Joe Biden,” Trump said.

“Another official inside the FBI wrote that she was running a ‘shadow government’ to keep intelligence about China’s election meddling from becoming known,” Trump added in apparent reference to Flores.

Trump referenced having ordered criminal investigations into certain officials, but it’s not precisely clear whether Flores is among the officials under scrutiny.

The tip alleged the Chinese government has exported thousands of drivers licenses to the U.S. to create fraudulent mail-in ballots. It had been transmitted onto the bureau’s internal servers from the Albany Field Office. It was never investigated.

Floris did not stop there. As she worked to retract the explosive tip, FBI headquarters in Washington informed every field office that they must transmit any foreign election interference reports to be micromanaged by Floris’s team at the FBI.

“We’ll get this back in a box!” she informed her colleagues.

Floris could not be reached for comment. Her LinkedIn page has been deleted. A request for comment sent through her current employer Microsoft did not receive an immediate reply.

As another FBI official prepared the bureau’s section of the Presidential Daily Brief, they asked about the tip.

“It’s been retracted,” Floris replied.

“I am basically running a shadow government inside the FBI right now,” Floris added.

“Do what you have to do :)” replied the other FBI official.

The documents shed light on a clear motive for redacting the report. Some FBI officials at Washington headquarters were eager to not contradict the sworn testimony of FBI Director Christopher Wray, who had said in sworn testimony to the Senate that there was no evidence of mail-in voter fraud in July.

“We have not seen historically any kind of coordinated national voter fraud effort in a major election, whether it is by mail or otherwise,” Wray said.

“Right, but your answer is clear. You have not seen any widespread fraud by mail. It is something the FBI watches continuously to make sure that that is not happening,” asked Sen. Gary Peters, the leading Democrat on the committee.

“That is something that we would investigate seriously,” Wray said.

On the contrary, the FBI did not investigate all tips about mail-in election fraud seriously, the documents show.

‘Russian Disinformation’

About one month before Floris suppressed the report about Chinese interference in September 2020, she promoted a false narrative about Russian interference in the election.

In August 2020, as Senate Republicans were putting their final touches on a report about Hunter Biden’s financial connections to foreign governments, Floris and other FBI officials gave them a behind-the-scenes briefing alleging their work was “a target of Russian disinformation,” per a Senate letter.

The Senate investigators — Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson — said in the letter the FBI had not provided any evidence. They said they suspected the sole purpose of the briefing was for the unsubstantiated claim to be leaked to the media. Indeed it was eventually leaked to the Washington Post.

“Because there was no substance to the briefing … I suspected that the briefing was being given to be used at some future date for the purpose that it is now being used: to offer the biased media an opportunity to falsely accuse me of being a tool of Russia,” Johnson told the paper in response to the leak.

By October 2020, the Daily Caller News Foundation confirmed that a key email on the Hunter Biden laptop was authentic.

The Timeline

The documents declassified Thursday night provide a clear timeline of Floris’s quick action to retract the report and the Albany office’s effort to acquiesce to the request.

After some pushback from an official at the FBI’s criminal investigative division, who said the tip met all of the standard requirements for further investigation, a top official in Albany warned that the issue “may be elevated” and that his superiors were “aware of the interest.”

When the Albany field office quickly moved to retract the report, Floris expressed elation.

“AAAAAAAH SNAPS!!!! Well done [REDACTED] THANK YOU for handling!!!” she wrote.

Floris’s actions raise questions about the purpose of the Foreign Interference Task Force, which had been convened by Wray in the fall of 2017.

Ostensibly the report was retracted in order to conduct a new interview with the confidential human source, this time with the cooperation of FBI headquarters in Washington. The human source involved in the report, who claimed he had received it from someone in contact with the Chinese government, had made outlandish claims about Chinese-owned underground bunkers in Republican states, leading to skepticism within the bureau.

But more often officials explicitly named concern about contradicting Wray’s testimony as among the reasons to throw cold water on the raw reporting about China.

“Based on the conflict of this information to that of the wider USIC, the fact that it contradicts Director Wray’s testimony to Congress, and the importance to the current administration, I think we should … treat [the tip] like it will be going in front of the President,” one official said. “Personally, I am skeptical of this reporting based on the portions regarding COVID that veer into conspiracy theories.”

“A new 1023 will be needed,” another official wrote in reference to the form the FBI uses to interview confidential human sources. “AND it will have to run the gamut at HQ for review/approval.”

“Again, the reporting will contradict Director Wray’s testimony,” the official said.

Another official expressed concern that a tip would be suppressed simply to prevent their boss from looking back.

“My concern is that I think it gets dangerous if we cite potential political implications as reasons for not putting out our information,” the official wrote.

He noted that other agencies in the intelligence community may be able to verify whether or not the tipster’s subsource really had contact with the Chinese government.

The FBI started moving toward republishing the tip, only to be overruled by Floris’ Foreign Interference Task Force, which suppressed the report again, documents show.

Finally, in late October 2020, with just days to go before Election Day, a draft of the tip was deleted.
